SI says Cal is most likely coach to go to NBA
http://fansided.com/2016/03/24/march-madness-5-coaches-make-leap-nba/6/
That was pathetic JF, thanks for wasting 3 minutes of my life... can SI get any worse?
No he wont..They will hire a proven winnerKenny Payne will be Cal's successor, and it will be a great choice.
I live close to Murray State and I really like Steve Prohm, I think he will have a lot of success but I would not want to see him at Kentucky. This job requires too much BS and celebrity for a down to earth man like him. He is a great coach. When King Cal leaves in 4-5 years how about Steve Prohm from Iowa St as next coach!?

Bruce Pearl? Yeah I know, he comes with baggage and he did that stint at UT but he can coach, recruit and most of all...he has the charisma that it takes at UK. Alot of good coaching candidates out there but not many that can withstand the expectations of the big blue nation.
i agree about that billy has been offered. but at the time he was bigger than uk. after the thunder get blown up this year you wont be hearing much of billy. could then use uk to get back in the lime light.
uk will have their pick at the best coach in the game. similar to unc taking roy from kansas. just wondering who will be the drunk after cals replacement to take the reigns for a couple years and deliver back to back nit's.
My sincere hope is that Cal stays another decade and brings home another title or two. Future coach may not even be on the radar yet, but will have to be able to handle the pressures of the job 24/7/365. UK job is not for the meek, introverted, or thin skinned.
Who in the hell is even looking for a coach that far ahead. When King Cal leaves in 4-5 years how about Steve Prohm from Iowa St as next coach!?
I'm not ready to think about it.
I actually like this idea. Granted, Kenny will probably end up a head coach sometime soon, but if and when Cal does leave, I would not be at all surprised to see Kenny come back. Granted, of course, his performance as a head coach wherever he ends up is worthy!Kenny Payne will be Cal's successor, and it will be a great choice.
That's right. 10 years ago Billy Gillespie was a hot coach and look how that turned out.Bet it's someone not on our radar now. A lot can happen in the next 5-10 years
You stand corrected sir, Billy Donovan was never bigger than the UK program! With all due respect, have you been in the jug already today? He might have thought that he was bigger than UK. That is his personal tragedy to deal with.
Cal is 3-2 vs Crean at UKHow about Clappy? He's 2-1 vs Cal....
(<- ducking for cover, just kidding)
Why don't you cal Mitch and make that suggestion? When King Cal leaves in 4-5 years how about Steve Prohm from Iowa St as next coach!?
