Imagine if everything about your job was scrutinized by some hayseed from Hazard County.
Cal looks like he has taken a beating in the past few weeks and it’s affected his family. There is no one on this forum that knows more about basketball than John Calipari.
It’s time now to support this team and this coaching staff and stop with the negativity, it makes the rest of us look as bad as the dipsticks here

We had Toppin out the whole game and Wallace out for a big chunk of the game. We still should have won, obviously, but having those guys out definitely hurt.
I agree and I get it. But I think the best high school teams in the country could beat SC.

I know more than Cal does. I just chose not to make coaching my profession. If you think no one knows more than him you are just plain ignorant. If he knew what a lot of us know he would have 4 more titles. It’s that simple. Get off his nuts.

I do find it amusing when someone like Cal (who is from Pennsylvania), claims we are all know nothing “Bennies”. The people of this state were one of the primary inventors of this sport. We know a little bit about it and we definitely know good basketball from bad basketball.

Love him or hate him, basketball has been his 9 to 5 job for over 40 years and yet you know more than he does?

Cal has forgotten more about bb than most of us will ever know, but that doesn't mean we can't be right.

Cal has been over-thinking everything the past few seasons, he got caught over-thinking in the 2008 title game, in the 2015 FF, in the 2019 E8, the entire 2021 season, the 2022 loss to SP and most of this year.

Sometimes too much experience is a bad thing. I truly believe that the 80's and 90's version of Cal, would be playing the best lineups based on what he sees on the court.

Present day Cal, doesn't trust what he sees and would rather prove to the fans that he's right, instead if just doing what's obvious.

I think most of us want to cheer for Cal we want it to work but be humble and make changes. If he goes right back to Wheeler then he will never learn. If Wheeler was healthy Cal plays him 40 and we lose by 20. We need this to click for Cal. Even with no pg at times today we looked better. Play Wallace at point and have CJ and Reeves out there together to space it out and make defenses stand on the perimeter.

Wheeler has no business playing 40 mins or taking 16 shots a game. He is a backup pg and wouldn't start for any top 25 team. Let him come off the bench and play spot mins. No more than 15-18. But I worry Cal won't do it.

With Wheeler, 40 mins, worse loss for Cal at Kentucky. Zero mins today one of Cals best wins. This isn't rocket science.

If you think Wallace did anything today to suggest that he is a point guard, you must have been watching a different game with another Wallace playing in it. The team played better with Wallace on the bench and Reeves or Aduo playing point. Not having Wheeler today made Cal have to do something other than scream run which Wheeler typically attempts to accommodate while turning the ball over. However, without him, we had 19 turnovers. Today was the first time in years that his team actually ran an effective halfcourt set. If he is smart, he will use the same approach for the rest of the season and give up on the idea of Wallace playing point. If he doesn't use Wheeler at point, it should be Reeves.

I think the celebration today has to be tempered somewhat by the SC loss. I mean SC is losing by 32 points at home tonight…at the half. To an average Texas am team. SC dominated the Cats.

It was a gutsy win. But no need to celebrate too much.
Good grief. Just not today man

For those that didn’t want to watch, I don’t blame you. I was an idiot and listened hoping for something like “this win is what we needed to get some confidence and get rolling but we still have a lot of work to do and wrongs to right.”

NOPE. He was his usual smug self taking a subtle shot or two at the fanbase as well. Also heard the team dumped the coolers on him. At first I was embarrassed because that’s a trophy winning ritual. But maybe it will do this group some good to be happy together after looking so miserable in games prior.

Don’t mistake my words, I am PUMPED for this win. We needed it desperately. But the coach and team are acting like we won the championship. We still have a long way to go to match up to the pre season hype (#1 team on Kenpom, #4 AP poll).
I bet you’d complain about sex.

Cal is nearly insufferable to listen to, so I started, but had to stop. I won't make that mistake again. After victories, I will just pretend like he is a humble being who realizes that his team hasn't lived up to expectations but is starting to show some signs that they still might be able to salvage the rest of the season.

And rightly so........I have seen teams that were performing much better than this one (apparently has) go in there and get beat soundly.......in fact......most of the time.......I can't recite the Thompson Bolling stats but it isn't "up to UK standards".......so he can be smug about this accomplishment......he has tried to take the blame for the losses..........
He has tried to take the blame for the loses? Why did he have to try to take the blame? Hell, everybody but you know he is the blame for the losses. If he goes back to coaching the way he previously was, there will be more loses coming. As great as this win was today, it changes nothing about getting crushed at home by a miserable South Carolina team less than a week ago.

Imagine if you had a lifetime contract. You should expect to be criticized when you aren't producing with some of the best kids in the game.
This! And I am not from there. But what the hell is wrong with being from Hazzard? I'd love to see that clown you replied to go to Hazzard and run his chops about the people from there.

Fester go down to Hazzard and run those chops about those people there. I'd love to see that. I don't think it would end well for you.

You have to understand he is having back issues. Before that he has been one if our best players so healthy I do think he's the best guy for point. He's deadly from 3, a crafty defender that comes up with steals but he's playing through back issues.

Trust me back issues affect everything. I mean during the game he was in the tunnel stretching. He only played 22 mins and definitely didnt look like himself. Back pain sucks and will humble anyone.

I hear what you are saying, but he wasn't effective at the point when Wheeler would go to the bench before he hurt his back. The kid isn't a point guard; he is a shooting guard which is where he needs to be. Reeves is far better at the point than Wallace.

There is no one on this forum with a lifetime contract, so we are not expected to know more than Cal. However, we know enough to recognize bad basketball when we see it which is what we have witnessed for most of this season. It is time for Cal to stop being stubborn and continue making the changes necessary to get the most out of this team. As for making you look like a dipstick, you are doing an awesome job in that department all by yourself.

Saying don't blame the kids is not shouldering the blame for loses. It's deflecting blame for the loses.

The problem with the losses this year is the fact that these guys played with no heart, no energy, or passion. Today's win is very huge for us, but I won't be holding my breath. If we can start racking up more wins against Georgia on Tuesday and Kansas is coming up soon. Thankfully Kansas will be at Rupp this year. If we can pull off a few more wins, especially against Kansas, then I'll start believing in these guys again.
