I’m happy but I bet Cal is kinda smug after this lol.
And rightly so........I have seen teams that were performing much better than this one (apparently has) go in there and get beat soundly.......in fact......most of the time.......I can't recite the Thompson Bolling stats but it isn't "up to UK standards".......so he can be smug about this accomplishment......he has tried to take the blame for the losses..........

For sure, we suck at Tennessee a lot.

I had to stop listening because I didn't want to get angry after the team's impressive victory. Cal can't help being Cal.

Cal needs to realize that this team won today because he gave them the tools to win with such as the pin down screen action that freed up our shooters. Normally Cal has them running up and down the court completely out of control. This is the first time in years that Cal's team actually ran effective screen action to free up his shooters and they shot with great confidence because they got the ball when and where they wanted it.

Exactly. I didn't want to listen to it because Cal's ego has the tendency to rip the joy of a good win from me. When I even saw this post I thought "nope, not going to listen because it's probably more Calipari word salad that essentially is saying to the fans - 'now get off my back'".

I ain't getting off his back unless he turns this season all the way around. And I mean all the way. E8 or bust. He won't get a pass until he runs off several games like today, and then maybe I'll back of a little. But until then, enjoy this big win and hope it is the turnaround we all want to see.

This team lost to SC a few days ago at home. One of the worst power 5 teams if not the worst in college bball. Cal should be happy. But smug?
Are you not a UK fan? The season isn't over, Cal has taken low seeds to the FF

Huge UK fan. Born and raised in central KY. Just saying not sure why Cal would be smug. Team is on the bubble.. Big big win. Hopefully the start of a great run.
When Cal is smug after a game, it means 2 things, we played well and got a W

I think most of us want to cheer for Cal we want it to work but be humble and make changes. If he goes right back to Wheeler then he will never learn. If Wheeler was healthy Cal plays him 40 and we lose by 20. We need this to click for Cal. Even with no pg at times today we looked better. Play Wallace at point and have CJ and Reeves out there together to space it out and make defenses stand on the perimeter.

Wheeler has no business playing 40 mins or taking 16 shots a game. He is a backup pg and wouldn't start for any top 25 team. Let him come off the bench and play spot mins. No more than 15-18. But I worry Cal won't do it.

With Wheeler, 40 mins, worse loss for Cal at Kentucky. Zero mins today one of Cals best wins. This isn't rocket science.

He can be any way he wants as long as he wins

I think the celebration today has to be tempered somewhat by the SC loss. I mean SC is losing by 32 points at home tonight…at the half. To an average Texas am team. SC dominated the Cats.

It was a gutsy win. But no need to celebrate too much.

No, while it was a great win, we just lost in Rupp to a team everyone else is blowing out by big numbers, we have 6 losses already, we are unranked and we are still dangerously close to missing the NCAAT.

It's way too soon to be smug

Imagine if everything about your job was scrutinized by some hayseed from Hazard County.
Cal looks like he has taken a beating in the past few weeks and it’s affected his family. There is no one on this forum that knows more about basketball than John Calipari.
It’s time now to support this team and this coaching staff and stop with the negativity, it makes the rest of us look as bad as the dipsticks here

Exactly, those fans Cal was trashing, have been right. Cal is acting like he just discovered something nobody else could possibly have known.
We've wanted to see this lineup and style of Play since August.

Imagine you get paid 10 million a year to win and you can’t. Might have a lot to do with everything. Especially after you run your mouth non stop bragging about how great you are.

All the Cal haters probably were disgusted watching this, since they all said he has lost control of the team and the players hate him.

Imagine if you had a lifetime contract. You should expect to be criticized when you aren't producing with some of the best kids in the game.

He has been waiting for an opportunity to crawl from under his rock. If they lose again, he will go back into hiding.
Didn’t go anywhere. Was on here yesterday posting about my support of Cal. Do better.

Funny to see the fair weathered idiots subdued tonight or even mad that we won as some are. Even that slob of a female that posts misery here is suddenly reading a book tonight. [laughing]
It's expected to see you on here lying about fans being upset that UK won. I don't recall anyone being upset about the team winning. But don't let the truth get in the way of you lying.

For those that didn’t want to watch, I don’t blame you. I was an idiot and listened hoping for something like “this win is what we needed to get some confidence and get rolling but we still have a lot of work to do and wrongs to right.”

NOPE. He was his usual smug self taking a subtle shot or two at the fanbase as well. Also heard the team dumped the coolers on him. At first I was embarrassed because that’s a trophy winning ritual. But maybe it will do this group some good to be happy together after looking so miserable in games prior.

Don’t mistake my words, I am PUMPED for this win. We needed it desperately. But the coach and team are acting like we won the championship. We still have a long way to go to match up to the pre season hype (#1 team on Kenpom, #4 AP poll).

We had Toppin out the whole game and Wallace out for a big chunk of the game. We still should have won, obviously, but having those guys out definitely hurt.
