I just read your post full of hate and stupidity. You are incorrect about fandom requiring one to love or like the coach. In all of sports when a coach underperforms like cal has at a traditional franchise or program. All of sports they are canned. The lakers won a title three years ago coach is gone. Cal is the only coach I can think of to have the kind of stretch he’s had and not be on the hot seat or fired. Th only one. And he makes more money than most coaches in any sport. This is where the animosity comes from. There is absolutely zero accountability for him and he is the only coach in my long lifetime to get away with as much as he has at a top tier program or franchise and I’m talking all of sports pro and college. If not for fans bitching as you say cal would have ziltch for accountability.
the other issue is there is no standard for him. Zero. He gets to make 9 million a year whether he gets out of bed or not. That is ridiculous. Atta boy Ed!! Can’t believe I just said that but 2020-21 is a throw away for me also. I don’t count it against him. I know everyone had to play thru the same hard times and **** but (Covid) that was just a stupid funky yr to play and everything was just feeling off. I didn’t really take it very serious that yr. That’s actually the year he makes a tough non conference schedule and the worst year to do it because UK had 0% of everything returning from 2019-20. And, yes last season was pretty fun til the postseason but that was wat made it so hard was how well we played at times and then to just go away from it at the end was just a bad way to go out and made it hard for a lot of fans to lose in that fashion. For the record if we had went 24-1 instead of 9-16 I’d still dismiss that season and say that UK got lucky because of Covid or something like that probably. But it’s amazing that I agree with you Ed. That’s how I see it though.
This is exactly what is most likely to happen . Talented team good enough to win 22-25 games . Have some ups , have some road loses , flame out in the NCAAT . That's how we roll.
