Duke getting an easy road out west. We recruit against them and for all intents and purposes they are our only equal, yet they continually get taken care of. Cal said a couple of years ago that if you go to the tournament with enough good teams that you may back into a few Championships. It has to be frustrating for him to see the red carpet rolled out for Duke while they seemingly put up the biggest roadblocks for us.

It will always be that way. Duke gets easy roads and we get hard ones ( though this time with favorable match ups ) but we still have been to 4 final 4's in 5 years and in that time DUke has flopped to Lehigh and Mercer . UK is going to win regardless but I do agree it is crock.
I don't know why everyone is worried about dUKe. Their not winning ish. KU and UNC are the only legitimate concerns we have of winning it all. They will both probably make the final four. Just hope they both lose.
Duke won't win the tournament and I'd bet a lot of money on that, but they might be able to add another Final Four Claim to their bragging rights because they are in that bracket. I also wouldn't say that UNC and KU are the only title contenders besides UK. There are a dozen teams that could make a run this year, but Duke isn't one of them.
i'm a Duke fan and we're not winning jack this year. we got outrebounded by unc by 30 at home. Our starting point guard should be in high school. Our most experienced player is redshirting hopefully. we have no depth whatsoever. All Duke fans would be shocked if we get to the final four.
This year is so crazy it might be the first time a 16 seed beats a 1 seed, then an 8, a 4, a 2, a 1 and another 1.

All you guys have to do is make it through Baylor and Oregon to make the Elite Eight. Shoot the ball well against Oklahoma and you're in. Far from impossible when one considers how protected your first three rounds actually are.

The committee doesn't like Cal because they think they are better than people like Cal. They also don't appreciate having their hypocrisy rubbed in their faces.
They are in the tank for the ACC and always will be. Two #1 seeds, a #3 and a #4 this year. And if UL had been in it they would have been #3 too, after all they beat both Duke and UNC. At least we have been spared the sight of that.

A lot of this comes down to the perceived notion of "student athlete". They need that mantra to stick or there is no more reason for them. Like you said, Cal is unapologetic to their cause, and they hate it. They are an uppity bunch of acedemics that hates the image they feel Cal has created in this sport. It's not the old way. In the same breath, they give K a pass on his OAD approach because they have no choice, and neither did he.

Honestly, its not really about the perceived cheating. It's about the uppity nature of the academics that pick this bracket. In defense of Kansas, they don't prefer you either because of past infractions and other things like your affiliation with Brown. These guys are snipers of the ncaa. They take aim at will. Lets not forget, schools like UK and Kansas stand in the way of who they prefer. Duke/UNC.
UNC and Duke are their darlings, with Duke being their favorite of the last 15 to 20 years. They hate Cal because he's the anti NCAA.

But that bracket couldn't be more obvious. Duke is as deserving of a four seed as my old high school team. And we get screwed out of a three to create a high ratings game in the round of 32. The excuse they use is we "lost to some teams that aren't even in the field" even though the team that took our place has the exact same number of losses not in the field and we beat them on a neutral court.
Yes, the bias is real. And they don't care who sees it.

When Tubby left in 07, I'd say 90% of the UK fans I knew wanted either him or Donovan to come here (hell, I was hoping he'd come here after Pitino left). And this isn't some small circle of my friends. This is what every UK fan I knew said (the answer then was 1a - Donovan and 1b - Cal)

i agree with this. kzryzewski shut down jefferson to chase a title next year. (next step will be convincing that dork allen to come back for his junior year.) they're not a threat
the infuriating thing is when they do have a good enough team, and they get a cakewalk, as in 2015 and 2010
With a healthy Amile Jefferson, Duke is capable of going deep in the tournament but still not enough to win it all. By bringing him back next season they will be preseason Top 5 easily and if the get goofball Grayson to return, they will likely be preseason #1 or #2, along with Kentucky.
Kind of embarrassing for the NCAA if UNC is one of their darlings seeing as what's been going in the classrooms there for the past 20 years...
