There is a reason there is a lot of talk about him for COY nationally. 8 freshmen and 2 seniors and we have the most upside of any team. Right now IMO only UConn and Purdue and maybe KU are better but we lap those 3 in talent and lap Purdue in coaching as well. Uconn and KU , like UK have elite coaches.

Cal did some really good things, and also some really dumb things in this game.
If we can just get more of GOOD Cal, this team can go a long way.
Are you kidding? We played horrible defense and can't rebound and somehow pulled out a win. He needs to get to work and fix some really bad issues.
True but 1st road game and to overcome 8 points after halftime give the man some credit because if we would have lost you would be bashing away
Cal did good keeping the ball in Reeds hands at end of game and the way he did that out of bounds pass to Dj.then back to Reed was brilliant
They barely out rebounded us and the 3 point defense was steong the second half.
I give the players all the credit for winning and Shep ice water in his veins hitting big FTs
Obviously his assistant coaches or even the players came up with those plays or substitution patterns. Everyone on here knows that.
There was no defending a lot of the circus shots Florida kept hitting.
This is a conference game on the road. Talent on paper doesn't always matter. That is why they play the games. Good win for Cal and the Cats.
Wins and losses don't change my opinions or assessments.
Also no way he tells reeds head to fall off and foul that kid. Sometimes the kids have to just play the game and everything isn’t a reflection of coaching

Not sure about the play call for the 3, but Calipari sure did call that inbounds play for Bradshaw, when he hit that 15 foot jumper on the side. Calipari coached well today. Definitely like the changes he has implemented this year.
Seriously?
1. Forcing the ball into the post three straight times with Ugo.
2. Putting the ball in Mitchell and Bradshaw’s hands late during foul time (eventually he figured it out and got it to Reed).
3. Sticking with Dilly for extended minutes out of control first half.
4. Playing Bradshaw and Ugo together.
Do you need more examples? Lol.
Don’t get me wrong. Cal did better late, but let’s not act like he didn’t have a bunch of head scratchers this game.

5. Having DJ be the main ballhandler when Shep is on the floor
6. Not starting Sheppard.
I doubt he told Shep and Reeves to miss front end of 1 and 1's down the stretch......but they did.
