Cal was something like 24-27 against top 25 teams since 2015 before this season began. We're 1-4 this year. So, to all the Cal nut huggers that say we're upset over one or two bad seasons, how do you explain his awful record against top 25 teams since 2015? And remember, Cal said we're a basketball school so he has a huge leg up on his competition being at UK and still can't win big anymore. Time for Cal to hang it up.

Cal versus the top 25 from 2016-2020 was 22-18 (55%); not too far off UK’s all time 59% percentage. The last 2+ years have been horrible.

The Cal brigade will say we had a good regular season last year but we were still just 3-6 against top 25 teams. Cal is getting worse and we know he's not changing anything so where's the hope?

Why is this important to you? You (and me) and many others share your opinion on Cal. But what is the obsession with poking at those that have their own opinions that might be different? What are you hoping to gain in their response? An argument? Conflict? Trying to convince them to your way of thinking, but to what purpose? Do you think that those last hangers-on are what is keeping Cal employed at UK, and if you embarrass them enough, they'll "switch sides", and Cal will suddenly be forced out due to all the pressure that those last few "hangers-on" would add?

Guess I don't get these "call out" posts. And yes, even the "nut huggers" did the same thing during our little 4 game "streak", with dumbass threads like "Where are the Haters Now? HAHAHAHAHA!"

EDIT: I see you did it twice in the same thread. Your opening salvo, and then down a bit about "the Cal brigade will say". So it's clear you're doing this to bring in the "Cal brigade" in an attempt to create even more conflict. Can't we all just be pissed at Cal and let the lovers love him without this juvenile activity? I don't care who loves Cal, who hates him, or who doesn't hate him but thinks it's time to go (me). We all have an opinion, and the lovers don't impact my opinion whatsoever.

This is what happens when John Calipari has become predictably stale. Opposing coaches know exactly how to pre-game for him, and with zero fear of in game changes or curve balls. They have even stated it publicly. Other coaches are probably licking their chops the week John Calipari is on the schedule. Feared to feasted on.

Yes, 5-15 versus ranked teams with those 3 at the point.
This is it. Cal gets himself stuck with non-elite PGs and then forces them into the lineups, and we suck against even high Top-25 teams with decent PGs. Cal can't do it without an elite PG.

Which is funny to say given he has a pretty good PG in Wallace, but insists on 15-25 minutes for Wheeler.

I went back and peeked at the run we had to get to 51-50. Guess who was in there at the time? Wallace.

The four straight 3-pointers towards the end (three really with Wilson's foot on the line) - guess who was the PG? Wheeler.

Those last few plays with under 2 minutes to go - Wheeler comes down and freaking barely passes the half court line, then stands there pounding the dribble, doing NOTHING, as time wound down. He didn't start towards whatever play they were trying until 13 seconds left in the shot clock, and then all he did was dribble drive into the lane. We didn't have time to sit there and look around. I swear I thought to myself "this dude is throwing the game right in front of our eyes!"

During crunch time at 51-50, Wheeler was inserted and we lost the game. I think CJ came back in to give us our "Benny Lineup" when it was too late. We were down 7-9 or something with only maybe 2 minutes left. Cal failed again with his bizarre and horridly timed lineup swaps and combinations.

Cal is quite simply put, a horrible in game coach.

Without superior talent, he can’t win big games.
A couple of things happened, Cow po’d Nike and K got into the OAD business. Adidas started buying players for their schools. We no longer had superior talent.

Top 25 teams generally have good coaches, we have Cow, a one trick pony. One offense, one defense

It’s mostly due to 8 years of frustration. Frustrated by fans that keep saying we’re upset over one loss. It’s much more than that. We should be better. We’ve only had one team that was a threat to win the title (2017) and another that should’ve accomplished more (2019). 2020 was a decent team but the SEC was super weak that year and we padded our record. The other years were not good for our standards.
