Cal Trying To Come Back?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Arkansas thing fell apart. But even if it does we need to absolutely move on from Cal. He has tried to shop himself to OSU and Arkansas in the last 3 months. Good riddance.

Yeah I mean seriously if dude is constantly looking to jump ship 1) it's only a matter of time before he does and 2) do we really want him here anyways.

Fanbase already was ready to move on. Him shopping himself around to the highest bidder only makes the relationship here even more toxic.

You can't come back now. Sorry Cal.

These are my thoughts exactly. We have cause to fire him now. In many ways, that would be the perfect ending for that POS instead if soft landing at Arkansas.
I’d prefer this not get dirty. The program is above that.

Apparently Trilly donavon said Nate oats just isn’t interested In the Kentucky job at all. And he also said that calipari will either take the Arkansas job or be fired for breach of contract

Wright said no, Billy D will say no, Hurley will say no, Oats isn’t interested so it will end up being Scott Drew

Anyone who thinks he can return after what has transpired is delusional. I watched the Sources Say podcast with Matt Jones and Pilgrim. That was the first time I’ve seen/listened to Jones and it will be the last. But throughout their chat, they acknowledged there’s no coming back after negotiating with Arky, following the Mitch/Cal sit-down. And now Matt thinks it’s plausible? Moron.

You guys aren't going to believe it probably- but this twitter account is REALLY good.

It's a private account so can't link the tweet directly, but it's run by guys who are former D-1 coaches and part of the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches).

They are SUPER plugged in, I would stake my life on what these guys say most of the time- just being honest.

They were also one of the first to have the Cal/Ark news back on FRIDAY!

They say Cal is getting "cold feet"....

Our Arkansas source did NOT say things are off, but on hold. This could still happen, or at least deep inside Ark people think it can still happen. Our source says will know more in the morn. This source has never been wrong. Felt a little off all day. We think this is real.

I'm going to guess that either Calipari, Brad or possibly even Ellen approached DeWayne Peevy covertly and asked him to contact UK (Barnhart) about the possibility of Calipari returning to UK. This may be waaay off but, I could actually see it happening. I think DP and MB are still good friends so, the connection is there. And it would also explain how/why news of UK/MB being willing to hold Calipari in breach of contract would have been made public. Basically Mitch said "hell no and if you try it we'll sue for that $33 mil". Lol

I bet his players and recruits don’t want to go to Arkansas. Or Klutch doesn’t want their guys in Arkansas. Or, if the rumors of Drew being offered and the recruits told are true maybe some of the recruits like Drew and are holding true, more than just Perry? Idk.

You can’t finalize or get close to finalizing a deal in the middle of night while breaching your ridiculously one sided contract and expect to come back. This dude has Pitino’s lack of shame.

It’d be one thing if he hadn’t burned so many bridges while he was here. But he did. He alienated his AD (I’m not huge MB fan), he alienated the board, he alienated the boosters, and he alienated the fans. After doing all of that he entertains other jobs mid season and then works on finalizing another move in the middle of the night 2 weeks after telling us how much he loves our state and program. I’m trying and praying to be a more forgiving person everyday and live my life by when I get slapped to turn the cheek so they can slap the other one, but I’m getting whiplash here! Slip slap slip slap! I can’t take it!

If he had been humble and hungry while here, even if things still went this way I could see where the MDwildcats of the world win out and they get their boy back. If he did all this through proper channels, within the bounds of his contract, and during the day (like normal people- and I’m night shift mind you) and didn’t like Arkansas’s offer then yeah, MB would probably take him. In this world Cal says “listen, I made some mistakes and tried to run away, I’m sorry for that. Whatever changes you need me to make let’s put them on paper, sign them, and get it done. I’m sorry for what the program has become but I want to turn this thing around before I retire, will you give me one last chance?” But he’d never say that. And given how he’s treated the AD, board, boosters, and fans it’s unlikely, at this point, that they even believe him if he did.

Kentucky fans are catching a lot of undeserved flack right now. Cal made his bed and now he has to lie in it.

Cal completely disrespected the University and Mitch Barnhart.
Barney disrespected the school with the ridiculous contract he gave cal. Not to mention his hiring of Bcg. This guy doesn’t understand uk bb. He’s so far out of touch. The fact this guy is making the hiring decision (hopefully he isn’t the primary opinion) should concern all of us.

How would DePaul be involved?
Peevy. I wouldn't be shocked if Peevy was coming back in some capacity and Cal decided he wanted to be part of that but by that point had completely burnt the UK bridge and has not choice but to follow through at Arkansas.
