This is spot on. It amazes me how fans are now so dismissive of things we used to really care about. Increasingly the new view seems to be that the only thing that matters is what round of NCAA tournament you reach. Well, if that's how you feel, then why watch the regular season at all?

People here now act like losing the Indiana series was nothing, but honestly the end of that rivalry was a real loss for the sport. It was recognized nationally as the best non-con rivalry in the sport, it was a cernterpiece event all college hoops fans tuned into every December, it'd be the highest attended game of the season each year (it packed out a friggin Dome during the years they had it in Indy).

For those too young to remember those days, let me tell you, that atmosphere was a lot cooler than playing at a neutral site thousands of miles away in a partly empty arena.
Tell Indiana fans not to spit at players and tip fans over in porta potties and to not trample players not Kentucky’s fault

We lost in the elite eight to an Auburn team we smoked twice in the regular season...
An auburn team that beat Kansas and North Carolina and hadn’t lost since Kentucky and was a miracle away from playing in the title game why do fans act like that was just such a bad loss

Because it was? Auburn was without their best player too! You don't stomp a team twice, then lose to them when it matters and with them also shorthanded, and walk away saying it was an acceptable loss.

Calipari will never sink as far as Tubby, he’s on another level here and always will be.

The program has slipped a little since the Wisconsin game. Something was lost that night and we’ve never gotten it back. Hence, 0 Final Four trips.

Will be interesting to see if he can figure this team out. So damn flawed yet so are most other teams this year.
This team just doesn’t have anyone that’s going to explode and become a high draft pick. At least not this season.
Why attack fellow posters? Do you have an argument that can stand on its own?
This is his M.O.

He’s one of the biggest Cal worshippers on the site. You pretty much find him in Cal idolization echo chamber threads, or bashing away without making any argument in threads like this.

IU.. the IU that missed the tournament last year, beat final four Michigan State twice last year....... just because we came close to OSU, doesnt take away from the fact we lost to 2 horrible teams and we're at 3 losses before Christmas.
That's really nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I'm not just saying we were close if that call is made correctly we may have won the game. It was a blatant bad call at a crucial point in the game that ended the game. A call I haven't seen as bad since the UNCheat E8 call.

Yes officiating is horrible all over. I guess this is how you guys justify us playing ****** basketball, blame the refs for everything.

Who said this, “If you don’t have a post presence, your team is a fraud”. Give up? Cal said it. And yet Bam is the only legit big guy we have gotten since Towns. Reid Travis saves us last year. We would have lost 15 games without him. I know a lot of big guys are taking money to go elsewhere but there are plenty of centers and forwards out there that can play that aren’t 5 stars. We see them give us fits every year. Are we recruiting Hunter Dickinson? He is 7’2 and a good player. Not sure how many stars but we need that kind of size. Several of them. Cal needs to change his thought processes because what he is doing with big guys isn’t working and our team is a fraud. We need a viable post presence badly.

Has MJ ever seriously criticized Calipari?

Yeah ...when Cal was at Memphis. MJ was singing the "Calipari is dirty and a cheater" chorus back in those days

But, of course, he immediately switched his tune the total opposite way the minute he was hired by UK, and has been like a Cal propagandist ever since. Same as he was with Tubby.

He knows where his bread is buttered.

Folks often repeat that Cal quote here, but it's worth noting that it doesn't exactly jibe with what we've been seeing in the sport in recent years.

For example, Virginia didn't have squat in the post last year, nor did the Villanova title teams. That's three of the last four national champs right there, Were those teams "frauds"?

what you’re saying is true, but I’ve never seen a really good Calipari team without a dominant post player

Cal has always said he would take talent over experience, well experience is kicking our butt a lot more than it used too. It's losing to less talented teams and not being able to shoot the ball that's bothering people. It also look like some of the teams we are playing has just as good or better talent than Kentucky. We played Ohio State down to the wire but if we played them 10 times they would beat us 7, we are just not as good as some people think we are. When we play teams with one good big man, he dominates, we are just not tough enough inside.

I think it’s time to resurrect this thread. A win over Louisville and a few wins in our lowly conference had people excited. Well, you see who we are again. And how Cal is just not getting the job done. Three of the four losses are inexcusable, and even Ohio State isn’t looking so hot now.

As so many have said in the game thread, this just isn’t very enjoyable for the fans. As someone who loved the Bengals, but has since found better ways to spend my time on Sunday - the day is drawing near to treat the Cats the same way. Until, that is, a motivated new coach comes aboard.

Cal simply can not teach offense, and he refused to hire someone who can do it. It's all about Cal. The man has an ego like no other. It pisses me off. I hope we're a better team next year.

Cal’s refusal to play zone has cost us several games. This last one against South Carolina a prime example.

I see you had to wait nearly a month to bump this thread.
I guess he’s going to bump it after each loss. I’m sure duke fans are ready to fire k after the Clemson lost last night. A small percentage of our fanbase shouldn’t even be allowed to enjoy all the good that comes with Kentucky basketball.

Well, outside of Louisville, whose talent level isn’t all that great, the competition hasn’t really allowed for a thread bump. Yet, here we are. Another poor team, another indefensible coaching effort.

It would be nice for a change to see an attempt to truly rebut posts with which someone disagrees rather than just attacking the poster.

Let this be another reminder, dude is trending down. Piss poor coaching effort. Piss poor talent evaluation. Another year where the title is there for the taking and he’s going to bring us into the tourney as a 5 seed.

Pathetic.

Please shut up it’s very clear you’re too blinded by your personal hate for Calipari to see the positives here we’ve won 2 tough road Games and got HOSED by the refs tonight

The new defense. Blame the refs.

Auburn was aggressive and had matchup advantages that sent them to the line a lot. They shot free throws because we fouled them. It’s quite simple.

Thanks John Higgins now where do I shoot the free throws? You can say auburn drove against us but you can’t use that for a excuse when auburn shoots 44 free throws to Kentucky’s 26 keep crying about cal. Name some replacements I’ll hang up and listen

Hey @JohnBlue_ or @jedwar or whoever, this used to be called agenda posting and against the rules. Just checking to see if it still is.

Hope you guys are having a good weekend.
This is a thread that has been around for a long time. Just continuing to establish that Cal is trending down.

Are your feelings hurt?

You sound like my 6 year-old.

You don’t deserve to be a UK fan. You hate this program and players and coaches so much why don’t you go root for another team. You kinda whine like a Dukie I’m guessing you would fit right in with their whiny little fan base.
