You dont think we will catch Kanas? I think we're going to win everytime we play. I've always felt that way except the year we was 9-16. Go Big Blue

You pick any coach in the country for the next 3 years. I'll pick the Cats. Pick one, and how much?
He has no plan, he's just built his name here saying "Fire Cal" and the stakes are high......he can no longer celebrate ANY Cal success without looking like an idiot. He'd have to change handles here (him and many). Their screenname/avatar here means more than UK winning under Calipari.....it's that juvenile.

Telling the world "I'm right!!" is the top priority.

Well let me ask. With this idiotic fan base, what coach do you think would be willing to come down here and deal with this bullsh*t day in and day out. I'm telling you. When Cal leaves, we take a major step back. And yes, even further than we are now. A new coach is not the solution.
😂😂😂😂 a major step back

9-16
A NIT year
The worst loss in NCAA tournament history for UK
Lost the NCAA wins lead
Lost the NCAA tournament wins lead
The most squandered talent in the NCAA

How can it be a major step back when Cal has already went down that road with everything mentioned above! Some of you people really do have your Cal blinders on!

You could have saved yourself a ton of time if you just typed what you really meant: "I love Calipari more than I like UK basketball".

Take a look at what the BIG12 is about to become. Texas & Oklahoma are leaving and they're being replaced by mid-majors. The entire conference is about to be KU and a bunch of mid-majors.

Add that to what Cal has been doing to this program and you get a disaster.

Losing the all times wins lead is a big deal. I would think it is to Cal supporters and anti Cal people. I t was bad when Tubby lost the all time wins lead too. Cal regained it. And he will again.

The problem is the recruits. They are top rated classes in name only. Last year's team and this year's team are just not that talented. There was one first found pick on last year's team and one on this team. This team does have the potential that last year's team didn't have.

Cal and his assistants have done a poor job on evaluating the talent themselves.

Is Cal a better coach when he has better players? Yes. As is every coach in the country.

People say they want plays, especially situational plays. Well, go back to the '10, '11, '12, '14, '15, '17, '19, '20 teams and watch tape. Out of bounds watch the '12 team especially.

People say they want to see pick and rolls. Go back to those same teams but especially the '11 team with Knight and Harrelson and the '17 team with Fox and Bam or Monk and Bam. Even the '20 team with Quickley and Sestina.

Last year's team had no two players to run the pick and roll with. This year there's some promise with Cason and Oscar and we have used it a little already. But Oscar is not a good screener and he's not good at all with rolling if the pass is low. Oscar has trouble anytime the ball is low. Oscar will be better as a pick and pop guy. The problem with that is Oscar is our only rebounder. So maybe over the break Cal will learn to use Cason and Livingston as our pick and roll tandem. On paper that looks like a good idea.

Let Oscar just free range the paint. You really can't do any of the things Cal wants to do on offense with Wheeler. You can't run any plays with Wheeler. You can't pick and roll with Wheeler. You can't post up with Wheeler. Wheeler can't make an entry pass to the post. Wheeler can't pass a man open. But that's on Cal for bringing Wheeler here.

I'm ready for Cal to go because he's not bring in the kind of players we need. I know next year is supposed to be different but they could be more Collins than Herro. And Sharpe was all pro and Cal chose to not play him.

So how do we know Cal will play those guys next year if they are as good as advertised?

That comes down to the real reason I'm ready for Cal to move on. Cal actually did what was best for Sharpe. And Cal has made no secret that is his mission. I really don't blame Cal for doing what he said he would do.

But I want a coach that's going to do what's best for the program first.

You lost me right there. Anyone who thinks Cal handled the Sharpe debacle correctly is an idiot or a fake fan.

OK, now that you feel better by name calling and throwing out fan credentials too I know how seriously to take anything you post.

But for your edification, Cal did handle the Sharpe situation just as he said he would. Cal has said from the day he was hired here that he puts the players first. Sharpe was the number 7 pick in the draft. No way Sharpe would have improved on that position by playing here half a season. Best case is stayed there. Most likely case is he went lower in the draft and worst case he gets injured and never gets drafted.

It would have been very good for UK to play Sharpe. We were a two seed without him. He would have us better. Tyty at Point, Sharpe at the 2 and Wheeler on the bench. Much better team. And if Cal was program first he would have played him.

Cal is not program first. He is player first. It was best for Sharpe to not play. One cannot fault Cal for doing what he says he will do. And for taking the position that he says he will take. I even admire Cal for sticking to his convictions. The easiest thing for Cal to have done in that situation was to just play Sharpe.

And Cal is correct that if you get the "best of the best" you will win because they are here and it's a win/win situation. But once you are not getting the best of the best it's no longer a win/win situation.

I want a coach at UK that puts the program first. That means playing Sharpe. The other side of that is Sharpe probably wouldn't have been here at all. And that's OK too. We should not be a state funded G league.

I wish Cal would be the guy that changes to putting the program first but I can't see him changing to that at this point of his career.

The other side of it too is that if we were still getting the best of the best, Sharpe wouldn't have mattered.

I don't know the cause of why we are no longer getting the best of the best to warrant "players first". Is it poor player evaluation and/or fit? Is it NIL? Is it apathy?

You already have the answers, I'm just an idiot or a fake fan. But I'm pretty sure the answers are deeper than that.

I agree with you 100% or maybe 95%. LOL But seriously, as you pointed out Cal has at least kept his integrity by sticking with his "campaign promises" to put the players first. We knew from the start what we were getting with Cal and MOST were okay with it when we were winning. Some were very critical from the start. However, now that the W's are not there, posters are trying to find EVERY fault they can with Cal.

This reminds me of my friend who is going thru a divorce. His wife had her weaknesses but he loved her and didn't let those weaknesses and flaws bother him that much. But, since the whole divorce thing started, all he does is trash her for every weakness and flaw. I told him recently to let it go and start living his life again. But, like the fan who replied to you the bitterness just runs too deep. It is a sad way to live.

To be fair though, Cal made a lot of statements/promises/predictions those first few years. He talked about catching UCLA and "The Gold Standard" and those things aren't happening.

Most of us were good with what he was doing, because he was putting the players first and he did everything he could possibly do to win games, but we can't honestly say he's doing everything possible to win games anymore.

The 2009-2017 version of Cal would never allow Evansville to come in and beat us in Rupp, he would never allow Saint Peters to happen and he would never have allowed 9-16 to happen.

Those things happened because he changed his standards. It used to be: "I can't hide you", now it's: "I'm going to play you until you figure it out, because I think you'll eventually get it, even if it costs us wins, it's fine".

Cal has changed. Losing on the recruiting trail each year to duke didn’t help, but his own culture is eating us and he's allowing it.

Okay, that is fair. I don't think any of us are happy with the program right now The question for me is: Can Cal get this ship back on track? I am willing to wait and see how this season turns out and maybe see how next year turns out.

Ultimately, it will be up the big money boosters to determine Cal's future. They, like us, have to be disappointed in what has been going on. When they run out of patience, we will see a change, IMO.

For now, I am awaiting the Missouri game. It isn't a total must win game but it is pretty darn close to one considering the season so far. I only wish it were a home game for us. We need a win right now.

First of all, your entire post is nothing but platitudes and blather. Cal led the entire fan base to believe Sharpe would play, so NO, he did not do what he said he was going to do. He should have kicked sharpe off the team rather than letting him use UK like a hooker. Cal is a liar and a fraud and you saying you admire him not only shows your lack of intellect but also your lack of integrity. You’re the worst kind of fan, who enables and even applauds bad behavior and inappropriate trendsetting. If UK becomes a trampoline for carpetbagging NBA draft picks it will be the fault of Cal and people like you who slurp up all his lies and wink and nod at his disrespectful treatment of this institution.

What success has Triple C had recently ? Don’t use recruiting. He gets the best and fails with them. That is NOT success.
