Knowing about how narcissist work. I would not be surprised if he said that as a manipulation tactic to catch us off guard. If this man truly cared about winning and having championships, to "catch UCLA" he would have NEVER said everyone going the first round was the "greatest day for UK basketball during his first half of his tenure. I honestly think his ego made him believe that the wins and titles would "just come" with his NBA lottery picks.

5 years ago, I would have believed that he might of meant it. Now I think it's just a manipulation tactic based on his consistent behavior.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure UCLA only played 2 games max in the tournament in most of the 70s. So he is getting close.

I remember when he said, talking about why he was hired at UK and he said “maybe it’s to catch UCLA”

How much money you got to lose? I got plenty of pics of games I’ve attended and I can prove you wrong in 2 seconds. 😊
If you are laughing at UK every time some other team has success, you aren't a fan. Who were you rooting for at all those games you attended?

I laugh every time that Cal gets the blame for other teams success. Don’t try to twist it into what your want it to say.

Come on out Tuesday and see what colors I have on? I have an extra ticket because my wife has to work that day, free of charge.

I don't believe for a second that he was ever serious when he said that. Anyone believe he became a liar overnight? He was like this at Memphis.

He's always been an arrogant narcissist, he became "our" arrogant narcissist and brought great enthusiasm and success early on, so we chose to ignore it.

Now that the "Cat" is out of the bag, and his poor in game skills are on full display, plus losing early in the post season and losing most of our big games, his BS isn't flying anymore.

Ucon won't even catch UK in our lifetimes. Stew on that one.

Maybe not. But also maybe so. They have 5 in the last 25 years. Possibly a 6th this year.

I think, currently, UCONN has a better chance of catching us than we do of catching UCLA. Hell a better chance of getting 2 more than we do of getting one more.

It’s about these kids.
