--Talking about praying for someone...missed who it is

Question: Why did you take Wenyen out early vs. UF?

--He didn't shoot when he was open

--He dribbled instead and turned it over

--I've told Wenyen that 5000 times

--I told him to shoot it when open without hesitating

--Gotta conquer yourself

--Do you fold when things go wrong?

--Played better in the 2nd half

--Proud of Wneyen after that

Question: Strategy going into post season?

--We're hardened by good competition

--We were everybodys Super Bowl

--Got a couple days to get it right

--We will win if we fight and make passes

--SHare, sacrifice, play harder than the comp

--If going bad, you gotta make easy play

--Great kids but this is all new to them

--Showed them the transition baskets UF made and not to take quick shots

--As bad as we were and as good as they were, we still had a chance to win

What kind of rule changes to dissuade NBA

Cal: Kids should be able to go out of HS

--Cannot de-value education

--People say 'baseball'....but you can make a living in minor leagues

--We're gonna blow up a system for just a few kids?

--Baseball mostly white kids....basketball mostly black

--Cant blow it up for 8-10 kids

--Let the top 10 go to NBA

--Now kids will stay 2-3 years

--Parents should be able to get loans to travel and watch play

--Kids get loans already

--Already get Llloyds of London for insurance

--Treat them like the Olympics

--Not compared to Baseball...single A, AA, AAA

--If they come to UK they have a lifetime schollie

--John Wall wants to come back and finish up

--The documentary is an outlier

--Dakari and Brandon Knight coming back

Cal going recruiting so short night...

Did any callers mention about going away in the UF game with the 5 that has played the best together. I know there was foul trouble with PJ and Vanderbilt but just wondering if anyone asked about starting 5 being SGA, Green, Knox, PJ, and Vanderbilt then bring Richards, Gabriel, and Diallo off the bench. I know these 5 have been getting more of the playing time together just wondering if anyone mentioned about starting these 5 since they bring more energy to the game and play better together on offense and defense.

I know there has been a lot of talk on all Kentucky boards playing SGA/Green/Knox/PJ/Vanderbilt getting the minutes and then bring Gabriel, Richards, and Diallo off the bench. There are a lot of the teams this year playing there starters 30-35 minutes and 2 or 3 coming in off the bench if there is foul trouble or a rest. In order for us to have a shot in the SEC Tournament and to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament we have to play these 5 together to make that deep run. Did Coach Cal mention any of this tonight on his Show?

Thanks a million, Blue!

I always appreciate this, but today I didn't get in until 11 and I'd been really hoping to hear this one so it means a lot.

I'm sure if your kids helped generate a few million for the school in a few months time they would be happy to alleviate that burden for them.
He was fed and had his education paid while he was here. He also has been compensated indirectly by his association with the university and the exposure he received when he was here.

Once they leave I don't think they should get to come back and get a free seat that essentially burdens most of our youth for a good bit of their working career.

-"If they come to UK they have a lifetime schollie"
I sure dont like that lifetime scholly ideal...Players get scholly's as a benefit for playing for UK each year...if they arent playing they shouldnt get a free education..

I disagree. Their play at UK provided millions of dollars in revenue to the University.

Kentucky basketball was a revenue producer long before John Wall stepped on campus and Cal made that rule.
Just shows the rule was over-due. Lots of former Cats have been able to come back and get their degrees. Kudos to them for having the courage to go back to school years after they left. I know I did it several years ago and during my first semester I felt like a total old idiot. It's not easy.

There is a separate, private fund that pays for this, not the university... but ok, noted you dont like it.

Making millions for a school in a few short months is worth a bit more than some free food and a years worth tuition. And let's forget all the money he's donated back to this community and others to help the "burdened".

I graduated from college a few years back and had Maybe 2000 grand worth of debt, so it's completely possible to come out without a large financial debt if you live within your means. Too many people love to claim this false narrative that college has to be super expensive or leave you in debt. Apply yourself a bit and there are tons of scholarships and grants available to everyone. Many of which Wall an players like him have helped fund.

But yea, we can go with an ignorantly false narrative that he's just getting some free seat that was never earned.
