Ah, THERE IT IS. The old "Sharpe sux anywayz LOL" card has now been played, fellas.
What? I’m not saying he sucks, I’m saying rankings and draft projections do not directly correlate to how much a player can contribute to a college team especially given barely any amount of prep time. Don’t be dishonest dude we’re having a good discussion

I’d be willing to best anything he never plays a game for UK, he will be projected a lottery pick and will not return next year, this is an agreement for him to prepare for the draft and assist the team in practice this season. what I dislike the most is all of the deception and BS, just call it for what it is, a quid pro quo agreement between Cal and Shaedon’s handlers. He was never going to play!
We go from one and done to none and done boy this will sit really well with this fan base!

Sharpe was the best NBA prospect at the 2022 EYBL the deepest EYBL in decades. And this came from NBA scouts in the building. He was also lauded as the best shot creator at the event. Something we needed when TyTy went down. This quote is telling. Cal does not care about winning basketball games at kentucky.

How many of you took the time to actually watch the post game press conference?

At 10:30, Calipari says:

“It just wouldn’t be fair to the kid. I just wish we had a bunch of practice times where I had two weeks with him where I could run three or four things and have him defensively play because he’s a terrific player.”

Now in the midst of the sunshine sucking ***** fest taking place here, you all are missing a key piece of information... and that is between the lines Sharpe will likely play this season and likely in another week or two.

See for yourself

Guy has been playing high level 5 on 5 his entire life. He doesn't need to practice it.

Insane cal won't even use him to help our guards improve in scrimmages.

The guy isn't playing. It is what it is. We have no margin for error if a guy gets dinged up

Bates is contributing 11 pts and about 4 boards a game, not the greatest, not the worst. You alluded to him being a bust. I'd gladly take 11 and 4.

I think the responses to this are funny. I didn’t like what Cal said so I’m going to pull some unsubstantiated bull **** out of the air and post that.
Exactly right. I'm sure Cal meant he wasn't throwing Sharpe in a game to try to win (words aimed at the complainers in this thread) when the kid clearly isn't ready to compete at this level. Our other guys have worked together for months yet some on here want a kid who was in high school a few weeks ago to come in as a team savior against what will be the #1 team in the country in a hostile environment. Yeah, that sounds real probable to me. We have a lot of great coaches on this board. I agree Cal's wording wasn't very good but I think many on here are taking him out of context on this quote.

Most of those stats are from the cupcake OOC schedule Memphis has played which sharpe does not have the luxury of because we are in conference play, but against Memphis’ toughest competition bates has sucked he went 1-6 and only played 15 minutes against Alabama, at ole miss he was 1-10 against WKU he went 2-10 and against v tech he went 2-10 this guy was ranked number one over sharpe before he reclassed, so what do u realistically think sharpe would’ve done on the road at number 2 team in the country?

Barnhart is like Jurich. He will sink and except failure before he fires Calipari. Conclusion if we need to get rid of Cal, Barnhart will go with him. JMO

Honest question, if we had a coach IE like Leonard Hamilton, with this same line up do we lose this game?
LOL, Leonard Hamilton is NOT a good coach . There is a reason he hasn’t been hired away from Florida State .

Well, we were still in the game heading into the final one+ minute so the guys were hanging tough. I think you sell our guys and how hard they play under duress a little too short. And, yes, I wanted this win big-time but I'm still proud of them under the circumstances.

Guys like Wheeler and Oscar were hanging tough but are bench just doesn't have it.
