With TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler sidelined with injury, John Calipari did not consider playing Shaedon Sharpe. "I’m not just shoving him in so we can win another game."
Nothing wrong with that statement. If he is not ready it could hurt his confidence for future games. One game does not a season make.

Ok! This is getting old. The kid has been playing basketball all of his life.
It’s not like turning some brain surgeon loose that’s not ready!
And it’s not like Cal runs a complicated offense or defense!

After thinking about the news breaking that Sharpe is indeed eligible for this years draft 2 things had to take place.
1. Sharpe’s Handlers had to send in the required criteria to the NBA.
2. The NBA had to review the submitted paperwork and let the Sharpe Handlers know he had been cleared for this years draft.

Question
Why did the Sharpe camp submit anything this year since he will be at UK next season? 🙄

NBA verified earlier this week that Sharpe is eligible for the 2022 draft.
They only do that if they have what is needed for Sharpe to be draft eligible!

Winning is NOT a priority for Cal.

IMO. Pitino and Calipari made/ makes themselves bigger than the program. When that happens failure is soon to follow. They have the mindset anything they do is acceptable to the fans. We should accept their excuses for losing or a players fault or lack of player. In the end they still get their money plus/minus perks money for wins/ tournaments/ championships. While we as fans sit and wonder why. Wish I had a job like that.

Cal defenders: “You have to offer the #1 recruit even if he never plays a minute for UK, he’s THAT good!”

Also Cal defenders: “you can’t put him for 2 minutes even though we’re depleted by injuries, he’s not ready!”

Seriously, what are you afraid of? Do you think he was going to score points for Auburn or something? Do you think our other options like Allen are better than the consensus #1 pick? If so, why not play Allen more?

Right on the money. Cal in his own mind is infallible. He probably thinks UK would suck with anyone other than him at the helm

I don’t think he should’ve played today, but if he’s gone next year he needs to play sometime soon.

I’m not saying put him in. I even said I wouldn’t. The choice of words on not playing him to just win a game is the point of the thread.
I see what you're saying, and it is a valid point to be made

Lordie coach cal ... just Lord.
that just came out awkward....

Jesus, people just looking for a reason to be mad. He’s gonna play at some point and look bad and then all these idiots will flip.

There is absolutely no harm in giving sharpe a few minutes in this game. The guy is on the roster, he’s dressed he’s supposedly our best recruit since AD. Cal said it though. Winning is not his priority.

I’d be willing to bet anything he never plays a game for UK, he will be projected a lottery pick and will not return next year, this is an agreement for him to prepare for the draft and assist the team in practice this season. What I and others dislike the most is all of the deception and BS, just call it for what it is, a quid pro quo agreement between Cal and Shaedon’s handlers. He was never going to play!

Again, just find it odd to say that he’s not going to play him to just win another game. Why not just say he’s not ready or I will not play him. Maybe just a bad choice of words.
Calipari is a show goat JED. He will fail at his choice rather than win from somebody else’s suggestion. He still gets his pay

I hope that is just a bad quote. If he helps us win then I’d think he’s ready. And for the record I don’t think you throw him in there either. But that’s an odd quote.

He kind of left out the part that he needed a couple more weeks with him before he'd play him

I know the sun will explode and the universe will go dark because of some coach speak, but I have a question.

What is the status of Wheeler and Washington? This is mildly important for the most insignificant reason. WE WERE KICKING THEIR CHEATING *** BEFORE THOSE TWO WENT DOWN!!!!!

Please return to the regularly scheduled bashing party….

So be it. If we’re gutted by injuries and he goes in and sucks, so what? Better to try the unknown then roll with what we already know isn’t working in real time. But if he is as good as advertised and doesn’t suck in that scenario…. people will remember idiotic comments like yours.
