I mean, at this point, what can he really say, the results speak for themselves. I can only imagine how unhappy and miserable this team must be behind closed doors, in an alternate universe, they would all return and absolutely obliterate all of CBB next year. The reality, eight leave and this cycle repeats itself until an ugly forced departure of Coach Cal.

@ralphdaltonfan thoughts on KP comment?

The worst team Kenny Payne was a member of Staff had Jared Polson, Ryan Harrow, Julius Mays and Nerlens Noel went down with torn up knee. That team still won 21 games. I'd take Polson/Mays over anything I've seen from Askew/Mintz.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out Cal's wrong here and to discredit player development which was Payne's best asset....but I get it--Cal's going to be loyal to Assistants. He just needs to be truthful after season and make sure at least 2 of the holdovers are replaced.

Also nobody in CBB outside of Cal or someone who knows and listens to Cal would want Bruiser Flint on their staff in a major job in '21.

Funny how Cal helped Juwan Howard build his staff at Michigan and it's better than what he has in Lexington.

Cal is going to end up getting run out of town with flaming horse **** being thrown on his lawn, and he’s just going to be standing there fanning the flames.

There should be some sort of doomsday device option for a university that gets infiltrated my complete ******** like Mitch and Cal who won’t adapt to act in the programs best interest. UK basketball is held hostage to a horrible coaching philosophy. Taking a self-inflicted death penalty may be a better option than watching this **** for nine more years.

Its Coachspeak. Its the middle of the season. He complimented Kenny and basically said we have who we have.

I was encouraged he brought Boston off the bench. He launched a couple of questionable shots but overall he played better, much better. He just needs to nix the threes right now.

Passing was terrible all the way around. Cut the turnovers, win the game.

Never put stock into 'Camp Cal'. In years past his teams may not have all lost the first few games in January but even some of the better teams coming away from it have struggled to pull out games that should have never been close. In years past the peak is mid-Feb to March but this season is a wash.

There is really nothing Cal can say...the product on the court is what it is and no amount of presser quotes is going to change the bigger picture which is....the product on floor is pretty bad. This is what it all boils down to...are we going to see the same off season merry-go-round of roster turnover? You'll know when

1. After season...if Cal starts with the "you play for your teammates in the season and once the season is over you do for yourself"...and Boston, Jackson, Brooks...possibly Terrance Clarke as well all leave....throw in a transfer or two...then you know none of what is happening in 2021 will lead to any change down the road which is what fans hope to see.
2. Then in 2022 Collins, Hopkins, Tschwiebe, and the Sophmore holdovers (Askew, Ware hopefully)...are they in such hurry to leave for NBA that they all declare after having up/down season as well. Now it's hard to project the future, but Ware and Askew don't look like dudes with potential to declare for NBA after next year....but we'll just see how it all unfolds.

We could say the same thing about the ND, Louisville, Richmond, Kansas, UNC, Auburn, and GTech games. That's the problem. This team hasn't improved. At all.

Cal is blaming the fans for him switching the lineup. This guy is a real tool. Your the coach, you recruited this mess. The fans haven't turned over the ball once or get beat in every drive. Hell, I haven't missed a shot this year, but Cal wants to blame us? Get a clue

Cal is losing it and has no clue how to handle this situation. He’s losing fans with these comments. I think some folks could take a crappy season given the current situations, but Cal just digs in and takes pop shots.

This off season will be very important. If there are no staff changes and another mass exodus, good luck getting the fanbase back for next season. I think most are checking out right now, and Cal is going need to do/say the right things to bring people back. What a mess, and it’s on Cal.

This kind of stuff is a defense mechanism. Cal's ego is accustomed to being adored and worshiped by the UK fan base. Now that the fans are starting to call him on his ******** his ego feels threatened and so is starting to throw up the defenses.

It appears that his mechanism will be to blame fans for his failure since we are ignorant hicks and couldn't possibly understand all of the complexities of basketball. As things get worse, and they will, the fans will get to see the true Cal. I think a great many people are going to be surprised when his true feelings about the fan base and his outlook on life come into full view.

I think this is very fair and pretty much sums it up. These guys have to be miserable and they just aren’t skilled at all. A bunch of them will leave (and good riddance) and Cal’s got it screwed up so bad that he probably does need to leave regardless of being forced or not.
