I have no problem with Cal's answers here. I get why he didn't play Allen more. Kid went 0-2 on threes and was getting abused on defense. He is also minus Terrence Clarke. That's a big loss.
Where Cal screwed up, was when he failed to be on the same page with Ashton, EJ, JJ and Richards. He obviously didnt have a plan for any of those guys and they jumped.
Don't even tell me Cal didnt know Hagans and EJ would leave. #1, it's his damn job to know and #2, how many times does he need to see it happen before he changes what’s causing it? For all the kids he "helped reach their dreams", 2 kids jumped and fell in the water and drowned. How is this a success when so many fail?
He also failed with player evaluations. There is no way he watched Boston play and thought he could carry a team. No way. That's an F minus for Cal.
Look, I'm glad we have Askew, but he’s not ready, it’s not his fault. I'm surprised he's able to do what he can do at this point. He just needs to stay in the program and become a Cassius Winston/Jared Butler/Dosunmu/Gillispie. If he leaves after 2 years, I give up. This will never work.
