Cal on the "no call"

Cal has gone full Billy G on us(not a bad question a stupid question) what's next we need to be 7 % tougher.That's it the 7% solution.
It was definitely a missed no call. No question. Yet there are missed calls and bad calls in every game. Usually several. You just hope they even out over the stretch of a long season.
Apparently Mike White's player thought PJ Washington's head was a "ball".
I am in the crowd that the blown call didn't dictate how the game turned out, I believe we lost it long before then. However it was one that would get called 99 times out of a hundred, especially on the last play of the game, with the game in doubt. PJ should have had the chance to tie the game.
Agree. UK shouldn't have put themselves in that hole, but a no-call like that gets called, and should be called, at Duke, KU and Florida.
What was he going to say? He said the exact right thing . Nothing is gained by going on a tirade against the officials . IN the seasons when we are young we lose 1-3 games due to officiating . Just will . Recent history bears this out. When we have experience and elite talent like in 10,12,15, and next season we will be too good for an official to cost us many games if any. Again history bears this out. Last game finally got me to except that. The refs are flat out horrible and have played a huge reason all 3 SEC losses . I just hope we met our quota for the year in their eyes lol.
There are blown calls then there is that call.I'm not sure 99 out of 100 does it justice,that is called 999 out of a 1000.I don't see how it is not called.
If that same play happens at a home game for the jail hawks , or dook , it gets called. I watched a bit of the game when Baylor leading Kansas and Newman drives to the basket, Baylor player played great defense kept his hands straight up , and you guessed it foul on Baylor, Kansas shoot free throws to take the lead with little to no time on the clock !! I watched the very next game with Memphis and Tulsa game and with in five minutes from the start of the game same type play happened and no whistle, I just shook my head and laughed . I officiated for twenty five years and I it amazes me now I must say !!

I didn't even watch this game - I had a feeling it was going to be tight like it was and KNEW the refs would screw us. Looks like it played out exactly like that. I've got better things to do with my time than college basketball these days.
When the NCAA decides to bring a sense of fairness back into the game I'll watch again.

Nothing's going to happen until a referee that works major conference games gets implicated in a gambling probe. There was clear corruption going on in last year's tourney with John Higgins, and unfortunately, the ensuing UK fans' reaction has made things worse this season. Refs are going to have their peer's back, even if it's obvious he's on the take.
Meanwhile, Ted Valentine apologized to Joel Berry for the back-turn this past weekend and even gave him a hug before their game Saturday. Unreal.

This is really what is going on,no doubt we are paying for the Higgins issue even though he was clearly bias.The question is how long do we pay,the no call on Saturday was one of the worst I have ever seen.I don't know how we got away with the Gabriel no call,maybe Saturday was an SEC payback for that one.
The non-call at the end of the A&M game is an outlier. Bet the ref was kicking himself afterwards for not being able to cost us that game.

No blood no foul. There was some contact but he had both hands on the ball. I was surprised you didn't get that call at home.
We all get frustrated and answer the wrong way. That's what we humans do best.

Does anybody really think PJ was going to drain both of those free throws for the tie though??? Can't remember the last time he made both free throws on a trip. Likely would have missed both IMO..

:basketball:Since his horrible start of the season at the line 39% (11/28), he hasn't been that bad (67%, 48/72). He did have that stretch where he made 20 of 22.
Whether he would have made them or not is irrelevant, the point is he didn't get the chance
If we started rebounding the ball after Florida would miss shots in the second half, instead of continuing giving them multiple opportunities and eventually no fear of missing a shot, we would have won. If we learned how to pass the ball to the post versus constantly turning the ball over making passes to Florida players we would have won. Yes it was a missed call and we will never know if we could have gone to overtime and won, but it did not look promising.
Don't forget part of the game Florida PG star was out with leg cramps, and we couldn't accomplish anything.

Just to be clear I'm implying Cal was wrong or unjustified.Call it like you see it(that is more than SEC refs are able to do)
The Florida player was ambidextrous, block with the left hand and foul with the right hand.
Yeah, we played like crap, but PJ should have been at the free throw line with a chance to tie it up
I thought Fla was instructed to foul rather give up a layup and they did exactly that on PJ. Foul and make is both free throws
What's Cal supposed to say? He's really not allowed to answer honestly, it's a no no for coaches to bash refs. It was a dumb question, one that was set up to get him in trouble. Buncha PC girls on here wanting Cal to be a *****. He ain't, get over it.
When Pitino was at Kentucky, he always said “you should try to avoid putting yourself in a position to let the officials affect the outcome”.
