We had the same record as unccheat and won the SECT. Did unccheat win their conf or conft? yet they're a 2 and we are a 5?? The SEC was every bit as good as the ACC this year too.

yeah but if you look at their wins compared to UK, it’s not really close. i don’t think UK had a win over a top 25 team since they beat WVU until the SEC final. also there was a stretch where UK wasn’t playing good and that hurt them a bit.

how the hell did OU get in? 4-11 in their last 15 games? ouch...that’s half of a season right there.

I agree about OU. lost 12 of their last 16. No way they should be in. and they weren't even the last 4 in. smh

Not till the last 7 mins. We were up in a close game then the touch fouls started. I believe they shot every free throw in last 7 mins.
I don't doubt it a bit. I watched it live and then I've watched it once since. I remember Carruth had a pretty good game. I'll have to watch it again.

Bad draw for us. Boise, Idaho. Pac 12 regular season and tourney champ in second round. Overall number one seed in Sweet Sixteen, which is the ACC regular season and tourney champ.

We have a tough 2nd RD game assuming we win our first. Guess who else has a tough 2nd RD game, Arizona. Aside from that our draw is as good as you could hope for. Sorry but you are going to have to beat good teams to win.
Let's play 1 game at a time.

Once again the top 25 is a joke. Sec team loses they plummet acc team loses they barely move in rankings.

To make a run in the NCAAT, we will have to beat some good teams. There is never a way around that.

Some so-so sports writer, forget this name, made a twitter prediction on Selection Sunday, and one part was "Calipari will complain about a tough draw".

I laughed. Maybe there's a reason he doesn't like the draw? Stop helping teams like Duke/UNC and slighting Kentucky, and this wouldn't be a problem. Don't want to hear Cal? Do a better damn job..

They might have top 5 talent but based on their resume didn't play like a top 5 team.
Jay Williams picked Arizona to win it all. Everyone else had Virginia in the title game at worst. So there's that.

Edit: Boise, Idaho is all I need to know to realize that we received a **** draw.

We got Boise Idaho because that's all that was left.

The bottom line is once we were a 5 seed, there was only two options.........San Diego and Boise.

5s get paired with 4s. 4s are the last seed to get preference on opening round sites (tho they really don't because by the time u get past 3, the good spots are already taken).

4s go West. It's just how it is. There's not enough good west teams to take those spots before you get to the 4 line so those are almost always left over. Only time it wasn't like this was last year when u had Gonzaga, Oregon, Arizona and UCLA as high seeds. Normally that's not the case tho

Just take a look at the official bracket, TN got a better chance at advancing against teams that are not like Arizona and Virginia.........wish we could switch with TN.

I feel like there could be major upsets this year that surpass previous years...Buffalo could probably hang with Arizona. And listening to Rex and Buzz last night we can't rest easy playing davidson.

unfortunately tho, Tenn had a better resume than us.

We didn't have a great regular season........and that's hurt us in seeding.
Several teams that didn't have great regular seasons got really good seedings. UNCheat lost ten games and received a two seed. They lost to WOFFORD at HOME. I dgaf how many quadrant one wins they have.

Edit: whatever happened to the last ten games criteria? They conveniently get rid of it? There's that moving target again.

Stop being a dummy, if they’re all about the same then you shouldn’t have reacted like a baby when I said we had the toughest region. Why would you act like that is ridiculous if they’re all the same? You’re full of ish and backtracking, still didn’t tell me which one you would pick because you were wrong.

Not happy with the draw?! How about the location?!

Boise F'ing Idaho...good lord...

The NCAA hasn't quite figured it out yet in terms of early round sites and regional bracket structure.

Why would you send UK, Davidson, and Buffalo all the way out to the Pacific Northwest?!

What sense does it make to send Wichita St, WVU, Marshall, Murray St out to San Diego?

Because there was 12 teams that got to choose location before the 4s got to pick.
Everyone can't go to their closest location. There's not enough sites located out East for that.

Has Ayton played a team that could look him in the eye with more than one player? I like our chances.

You usually don't have games like Arizona and Virginia until the Elite eight or Final Four though,Sweet Sixteen at least, geez,NCAA loves to give Kentucky Elite Eight matchups in the 2nd round to pump the economy of ******** sites like Boise,Idaho.I mean really, could they have sent UK to a worse site? Nome,Alaska I guess.

It's amazing how the Selection Committee gives allowances to Duke over Player Injuries like last year, but it never does for UK,the always changing criteria is a farce used to cover up their BS

While I don’t necessarily disagree, this is what happens with 4-5 matchups. We simply aren’t use to it as we are typically seeded higher. In 2011 we were a 4 seed and played a 5 seed West Virginia before playing #1 Ohio state and #2 UNCheat Just to get to the final four. We ended the season ranked 11th before the tourney and West Virginia was 22nd. This year Arizona is 12th and we are 18th.

If we are going to claim we are college basketball and we move the needle then we have to be willing to accept the other side of that which is when a tough early matchup can be arranged we will be a part of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is Cal's 8th tourney here. 3 times we've been the #1 overall seed. Of the 5 other years, we've been put with the #1 overall seed 4 times:

OSU 2011
UNC 2016
UNC 2017
UVA 2018

The one year we didn't was 2014 when we got undefeated Wichita St, though admittedly I liked that bracket as soon as I saw it.

And even if you look at the 2nd round games those 4 years, they were all doozies.

2011 WVU, storyline game from them beating Wall and Cousins the previous year, well known sentiment at the time that Huggins "owned" Cal.

2016 IU, storyline game and IU was under seeded at a 5 as the Big 10 regular season champs

2017 Wichita St, storyline game for them to get revenge on us for ruining their perfect season, they were also a 30 win team as a 7 seed

2018 Arizona (hopefully), by far the most talented team on the 4 line, reg season and tourney champs in pac 12, started season 3-3 then went 24-4, have the likely #1 pick in the post with our top rebounder out, game is out west

I am of course biased, but I see this every year. We never get a draw without huge roadblocks or a storyline game. Just once I'd like to get a normal, ho hum path that isn't clearly designed to screw us over or get tv ratings.

Whatever I blame Mitch

I heard one talking head describe our draw as brutal. Almost none of the “experts” are giving us a chance against the western wildcats. I like that position. We are rarely the underdog. If we lose, we’ll we were supposed to. If we win though we’ll bust millions of brackets. So just go out there, give it our all, and let the chips fall where they may. Nothing to lose, but lots to gain.

1. UK getting Pac 12 champ in both regular and tourney as a 4 seed is pure nonsense...add UVA waiting as top 1 seed is icing on that mess.
2. The biggest issue is why does NCAA allow so many non power conferences to have top seeds. Nova, Xavier, Cincy, Wichita and Gonzaga all go 4 seed or better. 25% of top 4 seeds go to small conference teams. Just baloney IMO. It pushes the big conference schools down in seeding and sets up bad brackets/cray hard brackets.

I'm not saying leave the little guys out...but put them down as higher seeds and make them go thru teams. Their schedules are just way to soft to put them up against power 5 schools. We don't give them a break in football...why does basketball bend over for them.
