Don't know that him playing will make much of a difference. Hasn't played in 3 months. Wasn't playing that great when he was playing, but if him playing gets UK into the dance....play him
Well we know a month ago he was working out with Justice lol. If he is 100% healthy he could certainly play in small segments, athletes like him are never that out of shape anyway!

he’ll be doing a second year. Just not here.

Could happen with the 1 year transfer rule. But I think its G-league, overseas, or rolling the dice on the draft.

The G-League would gladly throw him some money to play, which is the next logical place if he can't make the NBA draft. And actually.. its the perfect fall back if he doesn't land in the top60.

As a UK fan, I want to win. don't care how we do it as long as we do not cheat. Just win.
But I look at this Clarke kid possibly coming back from a business standpoint. I had a young man who I hired as a favor to his mom.
My guys work hard and I explained all this to the young man. Things just never worked out. He come late, have to leave early for this and that. He would miss work for stupid reasons. My guys got tot he point they did not want him on the job.
I kept trying to help this young man and every time I let him work when he came late or the next day after missing, the others guys work performance was not the same. They did not lay down on me, but were more occupied with being pissed over him being there and possibly taking part in the weeks end bonuses.
Just saying, people have funny ways about them. The other players, whether you like their game or not, minutes will be taken from someone who has busted their butt all season for a guy who hasn't.
But then again, at this point, does it really matter? We are probably going to lose most off this team anyway, so pissing off someone is moot at this point and time.

This kid has put Cal in a tough spot as much as cal put himself there. Like all the other mystery injuries we get spotty info, contradictions left and right. I think TC was hurt initially, then "opted" out once the season was technically over, but if it was that serious Cal should have just said so instead of all the mystery crap again. Now his stock has fallen so much there is pressure to on him to play and prove himself. This whole season has been managed as worse as possible, even from a PR stance.
Agree with most of this but I don't think he is expecting to show production, probably won't get much clock to do that. More likely, he is just wanting to send the message that he is healthy so those questions don't come up in the draft process.

Wow some of you are brutal. You said the EXACT same things about Keion Brooks. "He will never play this year, yada yada yada." The kid got injured, guess what, look around the college and NBA landscape, injuries happen. The kid has been nothing but positive thru it all. He has had to sit and watch his teammates battle thru a very rough, difficult season. He has never hung his head and stays cheering them on. Some of you need to take a step back and think about what you are implying. Those are some pretty serious, and awful accusations being thrown out there. Oh, and to the part about would not help if he came back, look no further than Keion's first game back against Florida as proof he CAN. Now, Brooks has struggled mightily in several games, but I would venture to guess Clarke has stayed in good shape, and probably has been working on getting in game shape for at least a week now. He is not just starting today. I hope he makes it back, plays 10-12 the first game, only when we are in a comfort zone against Miss. State, then round 2 and on, if he is producing, increase his time.

Just don’t play, besides his ankle may need more rest! 4 months just isn’t a lot of time to heal from a sprained ankle. “Rolls eyes”....

Oh but he did tell us. First press conference. Most, including me, were too glued to the instant success of the first few years to remember. But we were told. That’s the one and only thing I will ever give him credit for. He told the truth up front. It’s like the big bad wolf, in reverse. He tells us how he is going to blow the house down without mentioning that the house is going to get blown down. Brilliant really, if you think about it. His bank account says FU. His ego says, I warned you.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if he screamed it from the roof tops daily, these crazies are going to build their own story and go with it, truth be damned. I mean you can't have drama and good ole conspiracy theories by believing the coach of your team. Not to mention, the kid that could have played ANYWHERE in the US for college and he chose UK. And people wonder why some kids do not want to come here. They read this ****, but most important, players that where **** on or talked bad about while here for not being the player FANS wanted them to be, definitely talk to future recruits. Keep in mind, ALL of these elite kids know / play against each other coming up thru as early as grade school, then high school / AAU. Fans are too selfish and stupid to understand they are actually hurting the team trying to play Super Detective and throw out dumbass conspiracies.

"Roll Eyes" boy you sound mature. Throwing out unfounded accusations against a 18 year old kid that lives and breaths basketball. It is his life. Yeah, high ankle sprains or POSSIBLY even a hairline fracture can and do take a while to heal. If you are old enough (by your post you do not sound like it), remember Sam Bowie and his leg injury. The staff missed that at first and he played on it a few games. Also, Derrick Anderson. I find it a real hard to believe and a serious, desperate reach at best, thinking these kids would fake an injury. What good does it do him ? Glad we do not have people like you doing diagnosis of people, we would all be in trouble.
By the way, do you know there are several different grades of sprains ? I am sure you do, but hell lets not let facts get in the way of a good witch hunt.

Im sorry you got offended and seem very ruffled. My apologies... Although I’ve never been an athlete at that high of a level I did play college ball. It was at the smallest level possible but I’ve still had ankle sprains “high and low” I’ve also had hairline fractures. I have no knowledge of the injury except what Calipari has said. Acting as if I’m a child or just flat out stupid about things doesn’t make you look cool or smart. I simply stated he needs to sit out I believe it will hurt chemistry and he will be so far behind he just couldn’t help that much. I also don’t understand why you brought up injuries from so long ago. Have a good day though, try not to get offended any.

You have no idea the extent of his injury or why the doctors held him out. But, cool, good on you, you probably a Q-anon whacko too.

Im a whacko because it was reported he had a ankle sprain and I just gave “my” opinion? I’m sure more than me are wondering about these injuries every single year and the transparency that’s not given. How do we post anything different when it’s all we have to go on?

And then it was reported he had a lower leg injury and he was in too much pain to play and was reevaluated and then the doctors found "it" this time and gave him a new timeline for recovery. But, by all means, conspirify away.

Glad you mentioned this.. When I woke up today, I was scrolling through the phone still half awake, and someone mentioned our medical staff in the Atheltic Department. I forget who, and I forget what.. But maybe there is something that needs to be addressed. I recall they said that the medical staff potentially missed something in their 2nd diagnosis.

If Clarke plays he will be like the 4th or 5th player who was out for a much longer period than normal.. where we thought the player was sandbagging it, only for them to come back.. maybe there's some truth to the medical staff not being up to par.

Maybe we should go back and use this..."For a SPRAINED ANKLE, soak two brown paper bags in cider apple vinegar and apply it hot to the ankle. This reduces the swelling and relieves pain." :)

"Transparency" ? That do not owe you ****. Medical records of college kids should not be out there for every Tom, Dick, and harry to read simply because they THINK there is a conspiracy going on. Post your medical records here for us to see, I mean transparency should be required for all, right ? And no I am not offended, just a bit baffled and confused as to why people think he is making it all up ? Especially when it actually hurts his future, not help it. NBA GM's will have a real concern if they think it is a serious, career altering injury, but yes, the kid deliberately made up a fake injury to hurt his career future earnings. he has a lot to gain by doing that. Think what you are saying and accusing, it is very silly and most important, very serious accusations you are implying with absolutely ZERO proof of such shenanigans is going on. You should be embarrassed.

If "expectations need to be held in check", then he shouldn't be playing. Period.

All that said, is this another example of a player being truly injured.. and because we didn't have the information at hand, we jumped to conclusions? There's some belif that Clarke is only coming back to help his draft stock.. but if he doesn't play well, is hobbled or reinjures, then that could seriously doom his chances at the NBA. I don't think this is an easy decision if you're T. Clarke.. and I don't think one is the right answer over the other.
He's plummeted down draft boards. Enter the SEC tournament where he can make a new appearance to show he's healthy and all about sacrificing for team. If he comes in and provides a spark while UK advances then he'll climb back up the boards. If UK wins the tournament with T Clarke back in action he'll be talk of the town.

I imagine the SECT will likely be good for his stock.. but I don't think it's a guarantee. If he's out of sync with the team, or the team is out of sync with him.. he'll look bad, his stats will look bad. And Cal will be crazy to just let him "find himself" in a single-elimination tournament. If he plays badly, I think he gets pulled. And then NBA scouts might be more bearish on him.

I still don't know why he isn't just sitting out, with such a small chance UK even makes the tournament.

I’m older. I played basketball more than I breathed when I was younger. I’m talking at least 20 years of playing. I’ve watched when not playing for many more years than that. I’ve saw my share of sprains and such. I’ve experienced my share of sprains and such.

To say I know the extent of his injury would be a lie, but to say I’ve not also saw that exact same ankle roll at least 1000 times in my lifetime would also be a lie. It LOOKED like a classic ankle tweak to me. Something that might keep a person out for 1 game.

I think people, especially this day and time, are aware of the deal. If his injury is legit, he ain’t gonna last long in the basketball business.

I’ve been at work since 7:00 thankfully I’m outside in my line of work most of the time. I’m guessing your in a bad mood because maybe your welfare is late or your unemployment ran out! No welfare or unemployment here "my guy", sorry have never in my life had to draw neither. LOL, it is sad, I make more in 3 months than you make all year. Luckily, I do not work outside, I have a nice climate controlled office with assistant to get me coffee, cable / internet at my disposal. Even have a nice 50 inch TV on my office wall to pass the down time. Sucks being me, a 6 figure income is hard to make it on. Probably safe to say, never mind, I don't want to make you feel bad being a broke *** bum. I just hope you make enough scratch to take your girl out a few times a week (lord knows she deserves better). I really do hope she doesn't have to foot the bill, but something tells me you are a pay check to paycheck living, habitual drug user. Probably make DECENT wages, but come weekend, blow it all on booze and dope, then have to borrow gas and lunch money to get thru the following week. Tell ya the type of guy I am, if you ever get in a bind, just hit ole catsfanbgky up on the private message machine, I will break you off a little chump change to help you get by. Just do not make it a habit, I do not like being taken advantage of with my kindness.

Obviously this has went a little further than posting opinions, so I will take the high road and squash this. I simply replied to your insults after our first engagement. Maybe i was a little to firm in my initial response, I just was defending the kid of what I thought was a malice post that insinuated he faked an injury. The other stuff, being rich, cool, and all that, i simply responded to the welfare, unemployment, boy insults. Also to not keep this running, i am not gay either, married 28 years and have 3 sons, ages 30,26, and 22.

So responding as an attempt to end this, for my initial response being a little over board, I will be a man and apologize, sometimes when defending my take, I get a little carried away. For that, my bad.

Peace.

Very simple, I grew up. Wanted more out of life. I stayed in school, got an education, then used it to get a White collar job. I am not proud of my early years, but I did what I had to do, but I learned from it. My teenage to early 20s life made me strong and taught me life lessons. Not ashamed to admit the past was not all glitz and glamour. But what defines you is how you learn and improve your situation and not just accept this is what I was destined to be.
