Just dumb. He squandered a great opportunity to reach out to the fans and instead talked smack. Does nothing to get folks back on board after a great and unexpected road win. Also sets him up for backlash if and when they collapse again. Too bad. He’s as bad on social as the rest of us.

I would like him so much more if he was even just a little humble and actually legit admitted fault for the decline we've been in.

Heck, he refuses to recognize that there's anything wrong at all. He talks like everything is great and we have absolutely nothing to complain about.

But then he blames 9-16 on covid and not having fans in the stands. He wants us there, but only when it's convenient.

I want him gone badly. I hope we do well in the tournament this year. But the Sharpe fiasco (and having his wife come out for Wheeler on senior night), losing the all time wins lead, the all time tournament wins lead, and the 9-16 year will never be forgiven.

Guess you didn’t listen to all of the post game interview with Leach. He said this game was needed for the fans. How Kentuckians have had it rough lately and many were without power and they wanted to win for those fans. He also literally thanks the fans at Rupp after every win and thanks them for being the best in the nation. Man, some of you get your feelings hurt so easily.

I don't think there's anyone that wants him gone more than me. I beat that drum every day.

It sucks, because I used to be do impressed with him, but this UK job has turned him into an unlikeable narcissist and he refuses to even try to fix it.

This truly is a 10 year job max.

And only the fans that slobber over his self perceived awesomeness. If you’re critical, you can just stay home.

Guess you didn’t read the quote the post is based on. My post has nothing to do with my feelings (happy we won) and is entirely about how he pokes the bear instead of reaching out. He gets paid a lot to take the heat. He could have relieved some of the pressure if he handled it better.

Of course it’s always good to see UK win games. Arguably we should win more of them. But then there’s the added benefit of watching the miserable posters on this board bend over backwards to continue being miserable…. And that makes me happier.

Meanwhile, our defense was a big reason we won yesterday (not due to handful of times they ran zone), and that makes it even funnier.

Point out where my feelings are hurt in my post please. Genuinely curious which part feels emotional to you.

Cal absolutely despised anyone who doesn’t worship him. Most fans of the program have followed basketball our whole lives, whether we played or didn’t play, coached or didn’t coach and this is new to Calipari… well not as much now obviously he has been here 13-14 years.

At Umass, no one cared about basketball or knew anything they just knew hey this guy has us in the final four, wow he must be great! At memphis no one cares about basketball or knew about basketball so they too were happy with whatever Cal did or said because they were relevant.

In Cal’s first few years when he had the number one player in just about every recruiting class at every position he loved the fans. The fans could have an opinion because it was like his and it didn’t matter if we played man-to-man for 40 minutes and didn’t really have an offense because our 5 was always better than your 5. Times have changed.

Fans point out simple things like, hey this line up is the most efficient in all of basketball right now, hey if your 5 are getting beat by the same play over and over you may want to change the plays, etc. and all the sudden Cal goes out of his way to point out to the fans how he feels about us.

When the national media wrote articles about the subject did he call them out? Not that I can recall.

How anyone supports this man other than because he is the head coach and they want the team to do well is beyond me.

Quit listening to his BS a long time ago. Suggest others do the same. Even when we were winning at a high clip he was insufferable in that regard. Never heard someone say so much garble without actually saying anything.

Still pretty tone deaf to make that comment tho, even for him. I will chalk it up to his bruised ego and live with it if the guys keep playing well.

The reason most of you are so upset it because there is truth in what he says. Most of you all have no actual experience in basketball other than being a fan. Your knowledge comes from what others tell you. Whether that be friends, media or so forth. No one takes what you say seriously aside from yourselves. No head coach is actually going to take any of your advice. There's a reason they are in their jobs and you aren't!
