OP, what can you tell us on player relations with each other? Who gets along and who doesn't? How much tension is there in the locker room? After the last two losses what is the mood of the players? Please share any tidbits you have heard.

Story seems plausible. Cal going to keep taking his lumps this year. IMO he doesn’t have the will to fight this any longer. Next year’s class at UK will not bail him out and he’s smart enough to know it.

Doesn’t mean OP was told anything but it is very plausible.

I believe him.

I believe Ortho heard this information from someone inside the program or someone connected inside the program.

I am hesitant to believe how true the info is as the only way Cal leaves is if he walks. UK ain’t paying that buyout with that class coming in. They’ll give him that whether we like or not (I don’t). So even if this is info they leaked Ortho now, that info could change by the end of the season.

This has happened to Randolphfan on more than one occasion (the inside info changing course) and I respect him and his info as well.

Alot of people think Roy Williams left Kansas for UNC because UNC asked him to as they were desperate after firing Matt Doherty

And there is alot of truth to that. But another huge driver in him leaving Kansas, a job he loved, was he hated the AD. One of his last acts as coach of Kansas was to get the relatively newly hired AD fired

Ultimately Kansas and Williams went on to greater heights with Bill Self coming in as his replacement, and Williams winning 3 titles at UNC.

None. If he leaves staff & recruiting class is going to Texas with Cal.
If all this is true, my guess is they either follow him wherever he goes, or they just reopen their recruitment.

However, I’m not just concerned about these recruits, but also our current players that won’t be jumping to the league or graduating. I’m anticipating many of them would leave as well if Cal leaves. Could be a total decimation of the team, making it a very rough few years for a new coach.

Having said that, I much, much prefer Cal stays here at least through next season and gets the chance to coach the class he’s bringing in. They seem to be the prototypical class with which Cal has success. And if he did have success, I’d much rather see him leave on that note. I’m very grateful for Cal’s early years here and the unbelievable fun that was. Along with the Pitino years, they were the best I’ve ever had as a UK fan. Actually, probably even more so than Rick’s years.

Additionally, alluding to what I said earlier, I feel it’s actually in UK’s best interest for him to be here one more season. If he can have good success (not even necessarily a championship), he can leave UK on pretty good terms. That could result in a much smoother transition. With the hire of a good new coach, maybe we actually keep our team intact. We could avoid a possible complete decimation of the team and have success right off the bat!

I realize this probably is not a popular take on here, but it’s just my thoughts.

Very credible source.
So if this turns out to be false, you should be banned. Seems fair. If there was no benefit to you posting this, you would not have. You just want people to think that you're "in the know". With that said, it's highly possible that he leaves, whether you actually know anything or not, so you're not exactly sticking your neck out here. But here's your attention.

Everyone saying he won’t leave because of the class he has coming in next year… maybe you’re all too young to remember, but do you know the class he had at Memphis when he left there? And what happened? They almost all followed him. Who cares. He won’t win with those players next year either

Very credible source.
Just checked with my source, and was informed that every detail you posted is true. My source believes the announcement will be made either Saturday after the game or next year sometime. He also told me he has the $6k he owes you, and you should call him. If you don’t have his number I have it, so give me a 📞 after I replace my phone that I just dropped in the toilet.

I've been here awhile and never known of Ortho to make outlandish posts so if what he says is true then the Moderator who called him a troll should man up and apologize but if it isn't true then Ortho will look foolish and lose any credibility he has.
As for my opinion, which doesn't mean jack ****,Calipari is gone more than likely before seasons end I fully expect him to take a leave and I won't be sure it's at his request either. The heat is absolutely on him and the administration is feeling it as well.To much money involved both ways in that yes,Calipari has a ridiculous buyout but boosters and donors are cutting off the cash flow coming in and wanting the administration to address the dumpster fire that is happening to the program.Change is coming, one way or the other.
I don’t ever recall ever seeing that moderator before.

I get everyone being skeptical but the OP has no history of being a fake insider. None. I don't think some of you realize the wheels that South Carolina loss set in motion. Ortho heard good info. Others have heard the same thing. I won't say anything else about it. I'll leave something to think about: it's really not that long until the end of this season.

It’s funny cause rumor has it that after the usc loss in FOOTBALL got the wheels rolling for the Coen move

I don’t care if anyone believes he won’t be back next year or not ( he won’t). I just purchased a bottle of squirrel proof bird feeder climber slime from Amazon. Ain’t a squirrel alive that will ever see it.

I'm confused... so it's invisible to squirrels, or to everything? Because if it's everything how will you know it's applied properly?

A little bird told me Cals replacement has been contacted, and has interest, and a lot of fans will like him because he is replacing Cal, just as many fans will be underwhelmed because he isnt Cal. Regardless, Matt Jones will worship the ground he walks on as long as he appears on KSRRadio.(is that how its done?)

Long time reader, first time post.

Given the OP mentioned this is a relatively new relationship.....and OP is a "UK Ortho"......I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess a player with a recent injury may be the source. Maybe Oscar. Or, someone he might otherwise interact with - the Head Athletic Trainer, the team Physician, or maybe S&C coach. Either way, Bruiser doing the pre-game show is a bit of a twist. Might be typical Cal trying to deflect the heat (he often bails in pressers pre/post when it's bad).

Cheers ya'll.🥃

Some people will believe anything if it fits their agenda. You’re going to know what it feels like to bet everything you have on a horse, because you overheard the jockey tell someone his horse is a sure thing. Only problem is the horse loses by a nose, and you had your money on him to win. Stupid is as stupid does, I think.

As I recall he was also on the proverbial 'hot seat' for not winning the 'big one'. Won a ton of games in the 10 years he was at KU and went to four Final 4s...but never won the NC. Don't think he would have been fired....but a number of fans were upset.

I think you can put near 100% one will come. We would have to hire a complete joke of a coach before Reed Shephard would not be here
They are going with him wherever he goes. Probably to Texas. See Memphis circa 2010
Huge difference in recruits following a coach from a mid-major to a BlueBlood, from following a coach from a BlueBlood to an “also-ran”.
