Yep, Green had the same problem then we would go out and get beat. What I’ve always respected out of Cals Teams have been that in front of a camera or a microphone they were always humble. Seems like last years class didn’t get the memo

At least one of them didn't. Go out and play like you talk and all will be ok.

About ten seconds after the opening tip, especially in an NCAA tournament game, all that "Blackboard Material" BS goes out the window. You think either team is going to want to win more, or will try harder, because of some comments? That's jock sniffing reporter logic.
First 4 minutes they come out and punch us in the mouth, next 36 we take their manhood.

Both are correct. The "e" is used at times depending on which region the speaker is from. He's not wrong.

This is dumb. Yes, he is wrong. And so are you.

It's a Spanish language phrase meaning "hand to hand" (as in hand to hand combat) that has been adopted into American slang. "Mano y mano" is the only grammatically correct spelling of the phrase. "Mono e mono" means nothing.

Seriously, I guess you're now an expert in Spanish, lol. The use of "e" is also used instead of "y" at times. What both of you were saying was "hand and hand", instead of "hand to hand". The preposition "a" means to, at or at times with certain verbs such as "ir" which means to go. Now, let's talk about being wrong. The interchangeable use of the two prepositions, e and y, are both correct. Mono actually means "bun" or "monkey" in Spanish, depending where you are. I"m referring to the preposition, not the meaning of the phrase. And BTW, just so you'll know, the inaccurate phrase your'e referring to does have meaning but not what he was actually trying to say. I guess you're an expert in Foreign Language lol.,

This is all just your jibberish attempt to save face.

Tell you what, google "mono e mono" and see what you get. I bet you'll quickly see links explaining that it's nothing but a common error made by dumb people who don't understand what the correct phrase is. After that, google "mano y mano" and see what you get.

I'm right. You're wrong. And you know it.

Stop embarrassing yourself. "Mono e Mono" can mean something but probably what a child would say. For the record, I've had Foreign Service Institute Spanish 1-IV, which qualifies one to teach at the college level if so desired upon completion. I was married to a Latina for 9 years and lived 6 months with people who spoke no English. I'm the official translator at work for Spanish and German so don't even try arguing with me about things you know nothing about. If you want to google something in Spanish I would suggest going to Reverso, which is a tool we use quite frequently as we get visitors from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico and other countries. The guy did make an error and like I said, the phrase is something that you may hear from a child use learning the language. Save face, LOL., Sounds like you're the Jacka$$ around here.

This is all you had to say from the beginning. What he said was an error, I was right, he (and you) were wrong, good to see you finally admit it.

And, btw, I don't give the first flippin **** about your supposed credentials. There's nothing more pathetic than goofballs who try to impress others with their supposed credentials on an anonymous internet message board. Makes you look like a sad soul craving approval from anonymous strangers.

I get it but I feel like, with PJout, folks even the own fans are approaching this game with so much caution, when the talent disparity is huge still. UK needs to come out there with a chip and walk the walk and I like it that he expects as much. It didn’t sound like false bravado either. He meant it and they expect to prove it. I like it.
This is just damn embarrassing when rival fans get it better than our own fans...

We play defense we win by 8-10. If we let them go off from the three and play down to their level it will definitely get interesting. We have superior athletic talent but just need to impose what we want to do and not let them get into their game.

Bunch of Kentuckians, or pretend ones, arguing about Spanish pronunciation. I have now seen it all.

Pretty damn good synopsis
No. A good synopsis would be: He thinks their bigs are really skilled but overall UKs bigs are just better. He was talking specifically about their bigs vs our bigs. He said nothing remotely close to what you claim.

In a nice way he said they weren’t as good as uk. Like I said he should of kept that to himself as we don’t need to add fuel to their fire
