Didn’t know our fans hated our own players so much
Basically he just said he thinks we have the advantage down low against their bigs. I'm glad he said it...maybe it'll light a fire under him and we'll see a better version of Nick Richards.
This. If there's any UK player that should not be trash talking our opponents, it's NIck ..the guy who's been disappointing more than any other UK player.
Not sure what he was thinking. But, who knows, maybe this attempt at cocky swagger will drive him to play better.

Yep, Green had the same problem then we would go out and get beat. What I’ve always respected out of Cals Teams have been that in front of a camera or a microphone they were always humble. Seems like last years class didn’t get the memo

Doesn't mean squat once the game starts... It is mono e mono and whoever plays the hardest and the best will win.
That might just be what takes them out, being OVER confident. It happens to teams. They will be facing some very real competition tomorrow. We will see how it goes, but I'm confident we will be playing next weekend.

We, as fans need to stop acting scared of Wofford. Respect them but, don't fear them. Of course UK is better and should get the win. But, this is March Madness and everyone wants to be UMBC for 2019. Don't give them extra reasons to play out of their heads.

Anyway, Nick is right. Wofford is a good matchup for UK. The Cats are not exactly off the charts athletically but Wofford is not even on the charts.
They're fundamentally sound and can shoot but they should struggle especially defensively.

Huge difference between 1996 and this team, 96 team would have these guys in tears by halftime, it would be worse than the Duke game.
Love that our team that took a 200 point beat down from Duke and a 20 point loss to UT and then blew a 8 point lead in under 2 minutes feels like they can talk smack smh

I get it but I feel like, with PJout, folks even the own fans are approaching this game with so much caution, when the talent disparity is huge still. UK needs to come out there with a chip and walk the walk and I like it that he expects as much. It didn’t sound like false bravado either. He meant it and they expect to prove it. I like it.
Well, I have to like the confidence, but giving them bulletin board material is bound to happen. Yes, we're bigger. I hope that makes all the difference and NR can go out there with EJ and RT and the guys play some bully ball to beat Wofford. It would sounds really embarrassing to have to say this team lost to them in the end, but hopefully, NR can back it up and make that difference with PJ sitting out.

You also don't say it if you are Nick Richards, because you know you've done nothing to prove you are better than anyone. It's probably an indication of the mindset that leads him to play the way he does.
People are way to critical of one of our own. Nick is a very solid player if he sucked as bad as some of these fans acted UK wouldn't be very good on defense. Is he a star right now no but hes a valuable depth piece for a top 5 team and he gets blasted by so called UK fans.
If they need extra ammo to try to upset UK, they weren’t going to hang with us anyway. In a win or go home type tournament, bulletin board material doesn’t exist.
Plus Richards told a 3 point shooting team you can’t hang with us inside begging them to go inside against a team that does have more length inside. This is no different than Cousins saying this ain’t a spelling bee against Cornell in ‘10. The only reason people are ticked is bc of who said it and the handwringing with PJ out.
