Oscar's defense was horrible all game long. He doesn't even put his hands up when he tries to defend in the post. I don't know what Cal was talking about in terms of missing plays. If plays were missed, then he has the right to point that out.
It's not necessary to attack Cal's character after every loss. If you want to be mad at him, you should be mad about the roster he constructed. There simply are too many players on the team who are not Kentucky caliber players.
This right here. Finally a man of reason.

Cal didn't do well in the pros because they didn't accept the crap that he is doing at the college level.

As for not wanting to see Cal lose his job, that is on him. He has options. He can do better or he can move on. It is very simple. UK didn't reach the level that it has by accepting mediocre results.

Having a 6’8” center who can’t jump is a defensive problem. And offensive when you face anyone 6’10” or taller
Would sure be nice if we had a couple 6’10”-6’11” long athletic guys that are great shot blockers on the roster….oh wait….we do! They’ve basically sat on the bench and watched Oscar get abused all year cause we have no coach or staff to develop them.

Another double double and Cal blaming Oscar this is rich maybe Cal being the so called coach of this team would teach these young players to have other kinds of defenses besides the man, Ga. took us to school inside he is the worse coach in America.

How does one have 4 blocks at the rim without putting their hands up? This roster is not 16-9 NIT bad. Cal sucks

Cal is losing more supporters every day, from former players to other coaches. He is just not getting the job done anymore and needs to move on. Things are not getting any better and we keep having players that can't stay on the floor for one reason or another. We will be lucky to win one more game, with who we have left on the schedule.

Oscar was fine today. Even got 4 blocked shots. He is what he is defensively. For argument sake, if the HC feels that way, I don't know....maybe sub someone else in and let them play? Or are we still concerned about ego/confidence?

Never understand airing out feelings on a player when you control situation. IF the player isn't doing what is asked, play someone else.

Chitown, Cal would not know if a player missed an assignment. As I've said many times, "Cal is the best recruiter I have seen in my 83 years, but one of the worse coaches. He wins because of the talent he recruits. However, a lot of coaches recruits to fill the holes in his team, but Cal just recruits who the pundits say are 5 STAR recruits. Cal is better
then Rupp, Knight, Hall or any of them, when it comes to recruiting. "Cal can pee in your ear, tell you it's raining, and sell you an umbrella."

Georgia's center ate Oscar up whenever Oscar had to guard him one-on-one in the post. Oscar's horrible defense has been the biggest problem with the team all year. Opposing coaches and players have made it clear that they have targeted him because of his defense.

EXCELLENT POST. A coach should NEVER throw a player "Under the bus."

How many times did our guards get abused the entire game? Georgia went at Oscar once he was in foul trouble. Majority of his fouls occur from trying to help at the rim after our guards get beat off the bounce or are lazy fighting through a screen. The defense as a whole has been a problem but the biggest problem this year is the COACHING

People keep saying that Cal wins because the players he recruits are so good. Couldn't you say that about most coaches who have great records? Look at Phil Jackson and Steve Kerr. Would they have
been so successful without great players?
Would the 2 coaches who will compete in the Superbowl have made it there without great players?
Cal deserves some criticism. The criticism on this forum is way over the top. This team could still make it to the tournament if everybody on the team could stay healthy.

A casual observer would look at the box score and see that we lost the game because of fouls. A 7 point loss and a 14 point differential in FTs. The game looked fairly called to me. We just defended with our hands.

Kenny said it would be really hard to find someone to replace Cal. How hard is it to find someone who can't coach and berates his players? However, it might be hard to find someone at Cal's level of incompetence.
Lmfao! Cal is a bum as a coach! It’s totally obvious! He’s a fvcking fraud! He runs the same exact 2/3 sets the entire game! FLOPPY ACTION, FLOPPY ACTION! GTFOH! Then he wants to play a switching M2M defense, KNOWING we can’t defend in it! It’s incredible to watch his incompetence!

Damion changed the game defensively when was at the 5. He can't score or rebound like Oscar but it seemed UGA completely changed their plan of attack.

Why Ugo isn't playing more is beyond me. Should have been getting some more minutes all season.

Why would any player want to play for this fraud anymore, on offense he clogs the lane and put his players in terrible positions, never adjust, and has gotten passed by, on defense you can tell he never watches film, as a team in Georgia that can’t shoot he decided to go man to man with, when Kentucky can’t guard air. We are slowly turning into Syracuse, and we have to get away from this fraud before it’s to late

I'm sorry but this is funny to me. A lot of people on this forum were jumping all over Oscar all week. You were talking about how he should be benched. Some of you were saying the team would be better without him.
Offensively, he played a good game. His defense was as horrible as it usually is. The guard play was much more responsible for this loss than Oscar. That doesn't mean Oscar should be given a pass. If Cal criticized him a little it is no big deal. What happened to all of the talk about how Cal was being too soft on the players?
