"The Colonial Athletic Association announced Thursday that a game official who worked this week's conference men's basketball tournament has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The official did not exhibit symptoms of the virus until 72 hours after the game, the statement says. The tournament was held between Saturday and Tuesday at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., which is also used as the home court for the Washington Wizards' G League affiliate and the WNBA's Mystics.

On Thursday, the NCAA canceled both its men's and women's Division I basketball tournaments, following the lead of professional sports leagues that suspended operations due to the global COVID-19 outbreak. Two Utah Jazz players, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, have tested positive for the virus."

It's a heartbreaker but this was the correct decision.

A theory not backed up by evidence but not refuted either...

Millions of people worldwide are carriers. It's been around for decades if not centuries. Non-Symptomatic for the most part. When a larger # of very old people started dying in China, the scientists went to work and yes they determined "haven't seen this one before" (mainly because they weren't looking). So now that it is identified doesn't mean it's some new novel virus.

Makes no sense. Centuries or even decades of millions of carriers would have yielded some deaths years ago, that would have been investigated and determined to be Coronavirus well before now.
