Best of luck to the young man. I'd assume he'll convert to LDS? I think that's a requirement?

"but I think he had the best plan in place for me to succeed.”
WE DONT HAVE A LEGIT BIG MAN YOU DUMB BASTARD. You could have had 30 plus minutes a game here, let alone some of the best coaches in the country!! Unreal

I'm gonna float a theory.

He and his gf just had a bad breakup and he wants to get as far away from those bad memories as possible

That's a really plausible theory. It happens.

so he felt that Pope who was in the NBA for what a few years can be a better teacher than Cal who has 38 first round picks at UK? LOL i’m done.
I think it comes down to being able to play on the perimeter, shooting jump shots, rather than being a post player at UK. That's what BYU does. Puts up a bunch of jump shots.

Have you considered that maybe it's not about the NBA?

I know us Cal-era UK fans have been programmed to think everything's about the NBA, but you know, I've not once seen a quote where Haarms even mentions the NBA.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck. BYU is a solid program and it’s probably true that Haarms is a better fit there than UK. Opposing fanbases will gloat that Kentucky got beat out for a recruit by BYU, and sure they’re not wrong, but we all know it’s quite a bit deeper than that.

How is it deeper then that?

nice attempt to generalize me as a cal lover who thinks the NBA comes first, unfortunately for you it won’t work and considering Haarms said said he wants to showcase his skills for the NBA it’s a pretty relevant post.

weak attempt.

Every year we fall for it as fans. There’s that one transfer that we think we’re going to get. Hell even the inside sources said it was a done deal to UK. Then it hits, they pick another school. Usually a much smaller program that doesn’t have the bright lights that we do.

Usually I have a good feeling that coach will get a grad transfer like Nate sestina or Reid Travis. I’m not getting that feeling this year. There’s just no one really out there that’s good enough to make a difference. Oh well. I guess somehow coach will figure it out.

Kentucky must have been to big for the guy, he can be just another player and not be watched or constantly criticized out there. He was interested in coming here but something scared him off which means he prolly wasn't tough enough to be a Kentucky Wildcat. At BYU if he doesn't do much nothing will be said, if he were here it didn't work out it would bother him much longer.

Yep, too many here just assumed it was a done deal with their line up posts. No. I don't wish him the best. Some of your can say it. but I dont . You dont spurn our program and get my best wishes. Like I posted last week. This years Blackshear. Some never learn.
