This team simply is not good.

Quarterback through a soft floating pass. No frozen ropes, That isn't good enough in the Big10 . We can't run as no one worries about a Deep ball.

The LOS is just garbage on both sides of the ball. Owned for a month, Offensive line is really poor. Remember the Temple Game. People forget it wasn't an offensive show.

We are the worst team in the Big ten, hands down.

Maybe Vedral can watch some film on how to step up or move around in the pocket a little. He’s atrocious.

how many of our top 20 recruits drop out. the team is horrific. coaching is putrid. why is pacheco the feature back when he gets stuffed on almost every play. why is vedral playing.

True - but I dont think team is as bad as it looks. I think its beat-up physically and lacking confidence. Some top players (Crook) are out and others look banged-up. I think team needs a break bad and should look better after the rest

5 wide pass, uptempo, quick short passes.

Find the mismatch at the line and make a quick pass.

Stop with the scared coaching.

How about using the tight ends. Wtf is this 1 catch for 7 yards and never to be heard from again. I'm sure Vedral can throw the ball 15 yards downfield.

Our 200 IQ OC thinks we'll catch them by surprise throwing sideways for 30 yards to HOPEFULLY get back to the line of scrimmage.

Plays we never see:
-Slant
-Hitch
-Quick out
-Checkdown to RB
-Crossing route
-TE down the middle

Those are just a handful off the top of my head. Basic football.

God help Greg if he can't keep this class together AND build on it next year. Because if he can't he won't last nearly as long as last time around.

The reason they don't (not necessarily shouldn't) throw slants or crossers is that the linebackers are clogging that space because they have no respect for the deep ball OR they have time to get sucked up for a run and then still more time to recover back. The TE seam route is how you beat most Big Ten middle of the pack defenses espcially with LB close to the line, but they don't trust their TE or the QB to hook up with any sort of traffic.

The quick out was working earlier in the year and seemed open today, but they don't trust the QB arm not to throw a pick 6 (which is why a sub at QB would make a huge difference).

Hitches or curls, they don't throw those because they basically refuse to throw any pass that needs to be delivered before the receiver comes out of his break, too risk averse. This is like Chris Ash era level conservatism.

The check downs to RB would also be more open IF anyone ran deep, but even those were open today on 2nd and long or medium to set up 3rd and short and yet they wouldn't even throw them so no idea what to say about that.

This is basic football and basic coaching, so hopefully they stop Adam Gasing with this bye week.

In many cases, opponents are able to blow up RU's offense with just their DL, leaving 7 or 8 people to shut down everything else.

At least last year you could sell a fun team that shows signs of life. What do you sell this year? "Come get tackled 4 yards behind the line on a 3rd down screen?" "We promise not to ever throw the ball beyond 10 yards?"

having Gavin on campus may be the only thing that keeps the class together

You’re assuming he’s allowed to use the middle of the field

That will be determined in 2 weeks at Illinois.
