At Barstool since Friday. Made a joke about his podcast producer and everybody aides with producer. Now on his pick show, he says he likes the under on tonight’s game and Dave says he can’t be in the overs club.

I’m sure he’s enjoying the experience and he’s become pretty popular with barstool followers. I do wonder how Dave really is though. All the guys that seem to stay close to Dave just fall in line and repeat or go along with whatever Dave says. I could see it being frustrating or isolating at times.

But with that said, my guess is some of the stuff Dave does is for the camera and at the end of the day if you help Dave make money he’s going to be ok with you.

From only following BS since Brandon joined the team it seems like the drama is part of the dog and pony show over there. I'm glad to see Brandon on the national stage but dang most of the people up there need to grow up and grow a pair.

It’s a weird dynamic. I like Brandon a lot. Most of his co-hosts seem to like him too, but there are exceptions. He takes a lot of jokes at his expense, and he handles it very well. It’s strange but he appears to be more popular with Barstool’s audience than he is with his coworkers.

I’m actually a little surprised that Dave didn’t fire him last year when he put his hands on that arrogant little **** who called him a “moron from Mississippi.” To be honest, I would’ve fired him even though I would’ve been sympathetic to him. Dave actually sided with Brandon though, and gave him the warning that if it ever happened again, he was fired. Portnoy earned major points that day, at least in my book.

Brandon has built a massive following following since joining Barstool. I've always had the sense that Dave puts a ton of pressure on his employees and unfortunately Brandon seems to be catching a lot of it right now. Although, what happened to him on Friday between him and his producer was BS. His producer was completely in the wrong and people were really trying to stir that up bigger than it should have been

Dave definitely has a narcissistic personality. Walker I think lucked out being the butt end of a joke. I fully expected them to fire him right after that had their fun with him for a few weeks and he just didn't realize it. But credit to Brandon, he is good at what he does as far as knowing sports and he is a good content creator. I think Barstool was surprised by that. That whole group though gives off the vibe of a frat boy group that didn't really grow up. good for them though, they have create a sports media empire with certain shtick. like the alt espn. and like DS said it's like WWE. a lot of is a dramatization. Dave is Vince.

He made a racist joke involving his producer and the producer got bent out of shape. Threatened to quit their show and in a group chat (with the 4 of the podcast crew) Brandon told the group to F off and he was quitting. Producer took a screen shot and sent that to another producer that does not like Brandon. Said producer then shared that with Portnoy who posted it to his social media and then gave Brandon **** about it on their college show Saturday.

Producer admitted he crossed a line and all was made up.

There, saved you twenty minutes of pure awkwardness to listen to that

Brandon Walker makes well in to the 6 figure range doing this stuff. I wouldn’t worry about him too much.

It was completely overblown against Brandon. It was all a joke and the guys it centered on took it personally.

And, it may be a shtick between Brandon and Dave, but it looks to me Dave thinks everyone should kiss his ***. Brandon calls it straight in gambling and Dave wants them to back his picks. Dave is worth over $120 million, so his crying over $50,000 bets are like Brandon betting $100.

I don't think Brandon is a douche bag.

I didn't mean him specifically (although I didn't not mean him), but rather the entire Barstool network/universe/whatever. I wish BW well & he's certainly had a lotta success.

It's manufactured drama, that's just the nature of entertainment these days. News, sports, politics, reality TV......no one wants to listen to a podcast or watch a TV show that has a of bunch people standing around acting like normal people and discussing things civilly....that would be boring as hell. WE WANT SOME ACTION !!!! Also, people love to make fun of people from Mississippi. We are easy targets.

Which podcast was it? I don't remember anything like that on Unnecessary Roughness. But I don't know how many podcasts he does.

I agree that Dave’s “friends” bow down to him and treat him like the kids on the show Entourage did The actor. Brandon has great content and doesn’t kiss Dave’s ***. Part of that is probably because most of those guys are young and Brandon is in his 40s. I would imagine Dave kind of takes Brandon not sucking him off a bit personally But would never admit that. As long as Brandon continues to do what he’s doing he will be an extremely wealthy man and make Dave a **** ton of money. I would expect his leash is a bit shorter than some of Dave’s suck ups, but I doubt Brandon gives a ****.

Presumably you are also a grown man. Yet, you took time out of your day to inform us that you are above what attracts other grown men?

You made zero disparaging remarks. You didn't specifically insult anyone. You just found a thread on a topic you clearly: one aren't attracted to & two don't care about.

Why?

Is this not akin to others posting in NBA or NFL threads that they didn't watch?

Careful, Icarus.

I listen to him all the time and I never heard a racist anything come from him. He just made a joke about jack just pushing buttons and Someone else chimed in and said Brandin was saying Jack was worthless. Jack got his feelings hurt and made Brandon look bad by going to Dave. Actually jack is the snowflake and they are always dumping on Brandon. If I were him, I might break one of those ******** in half and quit. 17 em, they must pay him well so ..,It’s a lot of drama for sure and they play it up

I fully recognize its akin to the 'i dont watch the NBA' posts.
Difference is, i came to this thread not knowing what it was about and learned about the show's premise from this thread.
I didnt come to the thread to just declare i am not interested in the topic.

Well it’s not mandatory that you make a comment on a thread that you read. You can just read, realize you’re not interested and can’t provide anything valuable to the conversation and just leave the thread.

Oh cool, this is good info to know.

Conversely, you don't need to comment on how i dont need to comment. And I dont need to comment on you commenting on me commenting.
Around and around the toilet bowl we can go.

I didnt come to the thread to hate on the show, which is why I see it as different from the NBA. Of course comments can be withheld, but its a message board so its be pretty dead around here without differing opinions.

Apparently in your world...
New thread- THEM DAWGS GONNA WHOOP THOSE CORNDOGGERS!
Every response- 'yes'.

Good stuff right there.**

You and MF'gGrlfrd would likely enjoy the podcast. It's pretty entertaining.

Common 17ing ground. No way I could listen to that ****.

BW always makes a point to loudly support State and **** on OM and the rest of the SEC (and Iowa) any chance he gets. The other host is female and extremely hot. It's an odd couple for sure, but it's usually funny and good, and Brandon represents MSU well on a national show.

However... the opening howmanyever minutes of yesterday's episode was suuuuuuper awkward and be glad you missed it. It was Brandon mad about getting railroaded and yelling at the rest of the team for not having his back. I assume Portnoy makes them air their grievances on air to create content. Sometimes that works, sometimes not.

But they got past it and the rest of the ep was okay. I'm sure Thursday's will be back to normal. They've got f'ing SEC football to talk about finally.

No, that’s what started it. Branson made the joke that Jack just “pushes buttons and anyone can do that” which he immediately said was not true and that Jack was really good at what he does. Another producer informed Jack of just the “Jack only pushes buttons part” without the rest. Jack admitted he should have listened to what was said himself instead of only taking someone’s word for it.

Brandon then made a racial joke (white supremacy involving Jack) that had been made before and that’s when Jack lost his ****.

Honestly, there has been way too much said about this and it’s already water under the bridge
