Is this bill going to allow buying wine anywhere you want or just the Mississippi warehouse (or whatever you call it) ?

Bill that would allow wine to be shipped directly to your home passes Mississippi legislature

It now heads to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.

Looks like the shipper has to apply for and receive a permit from the Department of Revenue in order to ship directly to a resident of the state.

So, a California vineyard would need to determine whether they anticipate selling enough wine directly to individual MS residents to justify the cost of the permit ($100) and the hassle of the application process & required record keeping.

The big wineries & vineyards will, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near 99%. Just not enough demand/volume in a state with the population of MS.

Now, the online wine distributors and "wine of the month" clubs will jump all over it.
