Maybe, but I don't see Joe fielding a team that will ever be able to pull one of those wins off.

You dont think last season's MSU team could have beaten a Bama team that Croom's team beat? I think last year's MSU team was better.

For some perspective on the "talent" comparison: Croom inherited 3 players who were eventually drafted - David Stewart (4th round), Ronald Fields (5th round), and Norwood (3rd round). Moorhead had 5 drafted off last years team - 4 of them higher than anyone Croom inherited. And we have a few more on the roster with a good chance to get drafted over the next 2 years (Danzler, Gay, Hill, Erroll Thompson, Darryl Williams)

The talent level in 2004 was nowhere near what it was in 2018 - regardless of who croom ran off.

And Croom proceeded to lose 8 and 9 games a year.
Moorhead won 8 games (yes, he absolutely underperformed). Croom couldn’t win 8 games with the Patriots because he is a dreadful, dreadful coach.

Easy Buy. Despite his record on the field, Croom brought order and discipline. And he beat Alabama--twice.

Why does this lie get repeated so often like it's fact? Croom brought nothing, except multiple 2 and 3 win seasons. He was a disaster of epic proportions. He was THE disaster hire of a program who has a history of disaster hires. Ellis Johnson to USM is the only recent hire I can think of that was worse. He beat Alabama when Alabama sucked. Big freaking whoop.

To the topic at hand, Joe was a bad hire, but we've made so many bad hires in the past, I'm not sure the guy's even in the top 5 worst. Certainly not top 3. Croom, however, sits at #1, and I hope it remains that way until I, my children, and my children's children have long been dead.

If Croom had hired a good offensive coordinator, Croom could have remained our head coach. It's a close call, but at this point, I give the nod to Croom being better.

Since we are fact checking, Sly Croom did indeed win 8 games in 2007 but he did not do it with the Patriots so perhaps that part is still potentially true. He was a terrible coach though.

That's not true at all.

Moorhead has been recruiting fairly well. If he can manage to continue that he will leave the next coach I'm much better shape than croom left it

I feel like players liked to play for Croom. Thats about all he had tho. Croom is worse, but Moorhead is really terrible.
