Honestly ISU fans care more about beating Iowa then actually being good
It's funny watching the trolls struggle to cope with their team's collapse right now. Some ISU fans have doubled down on clinging to the Iowa game as their sole source of trash talk for the season (because their team can't give them anything else.......), while others are despondent and at a loss at how quickly their season went off the rails, mainly because they had spent the previous weeks still gloating about beating Iowa and pointing out any of Iowa's athletic shortcomings, while missing what was happening right in front of them in Ames.
So it has been a well-deserved reckoning for their fanbase.

Iowa fans might be cheering ISU's demise, but they're reason number one why Iowa doesn't get any respect from the pollsters. ISU fans should probably be the ones laughing right now.

They lost most or all of their starting defensive backfield. Now that doesn't mean Rocco should be throwing pick 6s. Their defense has killed them more than anything.
Fox Big Noon show was there in Ames. ISU was ranked pretty high. Iowa tried pushing a rope most of the game.
Iowa is my team and all that matters is that they were not the better team on that day and every game they lose puts another dent in Iowa's reputation.

I have this feeling they will actually take down ASU this weekend then somehow managed to lose 2 or their last 3 to finish 7-5.
That will make our loss to them even more gut-kicking than it already is, but also more satisfying during the off-season.

Their “mighty” MBB was able to beat Naorthweatern by 8 at home though so of course the clowns are final four bound. The only reason it doesn’t happen is if the refs steal it from them.
The loss to ISU early in the year was less about ISU and more about Iowa knocking the rust off a QB that missed spring ball and had offseason surgery.

Well, they did beat us. And it still sucks because it's holding us back from what could be a top 15 ranking right now.
They won fair and square. Lose a game in September, put it behind you. Despite what the doom and gloomers say at the time, the season is far from over.Iowa would crush isu if they played each other now.
And yet Hayden used to rip them to pieces quite regularly, leaving them no room for such boasts.
I dunno. Maybe, just maybe, losing to ISU three out of the last four years says something about our Hawkeyes.
ISU is much better than they were back then. Campbell has done a good job considering where he is, but he’s hit ISU’s ceiling, and revenue sharing is only going to exacerbate their problems over time

Iowa typically starts slow and improves as the season wears on. ISU has had a lot of injuries. Could the Hawks beat them today? I think so, but it doesn't really matter.

We were **** when we played them. We have clearly improved every week primarily due to the defense meshing and MG doing better.
