I've read this board for a while so I know there are some Cardinals fans here.

I'm going to St. Louis for a bachelor trip to catch a few games and we are considering doing the ballpark village one night. Anyone have any experience with this? Any other recommendations will help too

Ballpark Village is cool and a great way to watch the game...

If you don't actually go to the game. They have an area there that you can watch the game from the roof as well. Not sure how you get in that area, but we ate there a couple of summers ago and went to the rooftop area. We could see The Mets taking BP from there.

Ballpark Village is very nice. They were supposed to have a Ted Drewes Frozen Custard but as far as I know they still do not.

I think you have to buy regular tickets to watch a game from the roof and there is an elevator that goes up there from the part called Cardinal's Nation.

The best part of Ballpark Village is the Cardinals Hall of Fame and museum of you like the Cardinals. The restaurants there are average. The bars are pretty good if you just want a beer or whatever and hang out.

For restaurants in St. Louis go to the Hill- especially if you like Italian. They were redoing the Jefferson Memorial (Arch) park and I think they are about to redo Union Station.

I'd also do a tour of Busch Stadium. It's pretty neat and as long as the weather is OK they let you go down to the field and hang out in the dugout for a little bit. The Anheuser Busch Brewery Tour is really good too and not too far from there.

I went last summer with some buddies. Stayed at an air bnb downtown. Worked out great. Everyone is right about ball park village. You can hang inside there and watch the game or they have an outside area with a huge screen too. If you smoke cigars, Charles Stanley's downtown is great. Sugar fire BBQ is good as well.

Pappy's and Sugarfire for BBQ
Stay at Hilton Ballpark. Very cool rooftop bar and can see the game from there as well. Or Hilton Union Square Hotel. It's s little further out but a great hotel. Do check out The Hill area-- Gioia's Deli and Vinnie's for best Italian subs/sandwiches.
Broadway Oyster House for NOLA style food and decor. Close to stadium and great food. Cardinal Nation is a fun and lively area, never been up to the rooftop bar area but it looks like a great place to see at least one game.

I agree with the tour of the stadium and Anheuser Busch Brewery Tour. And for awesome Italian food, go to Charlie Gitto's. In my opinion its the best in town that isn't super expensive. And game tickets from scalpers outside the stadium are you best bet because they will negotiate heavily. But if you have a big group of guys it may be hard to do that and be able to sit together.
