They may have less kids but didnt meet the NCHSAA REQUIREMENTS to reclassify..not saying thats right or wrong as we all know our wonderful NCHSAA can F up free ice cream..i mean look at the playoffs..lets be honest counting the private schools NC will crown 11 state football champs..thats more than Ga..TX..fla..cal...wow..

That is incorrect information.

To clarify first, ask your coach to put forward fir a vote to end subdivided playoffs. The coaches voted it in and they can vote it out. Guarantee you they will not vote against it.

One major reason NC has eleven is because of the separate private school leave and it’s three titles. Three states you listed have all of the private schools playing in the public school league.

I am all for less titles!!! Less teams in the playoffs and less champions.

Texas public schools crown ten champions in 11 man football and two in six man. There are probably ten more state champions crowns in non public school leagues which also have several six man titles.

California does not have a true state playoff to a title game. The my select teams to play in a bowl championship game from the sectional champions. They crown six or seven state champions by enrollment except for the “open” division. It has continually evolved over the last dozen years when they did not have state champs.

GA has eight. All of their privates play with the publics. No private school league there.

Florida has eight state champs in eleven man. There is also a non public league that has six and eleven man titles. Majority of private’s okay dude by side with the publics.

Schools have always been able to petition to move down at the winter board meeting in year two of the alignment. Nothing new. There is checklist that reviewed to go along with the school’s appeal which can done in person if preferred.
