After my football hiatus (that means an extended break for you SP?Crest clowns) its time to get back at it. Unfortunately due to my job this coming season, I will not be able to attend as many games as I will like but I will still watch on KTC and support our School. This looks to be a year of rebuilding/learning curves etc for the young pups, gonna have some growing pains but Devine and Co. will have them prepared and put in the best spots to win.

Alexander Central looks to be pretty decent this year, they have a pretty good rb and idk how much our D will be able to slow him down if we are on the field all night. Hopefully we can get some turnovers and short fields to help the O out and get them rolling.

Tough game for our "yungins" to start out with. I'm hearing AC has a good offense but questionable defense. Could be a tough battle on our hands Friday if we don't get our offense rolling.

I don't know the details of AC but being a one county school you'd think they'd have something every year with a stable full of athletes and linemen. Well coached also. Should be a good game regardless. I'll give tater town gang the edge by 14.

I have seen both teams scrimmage, in the last week, and AC appears to be bigger and stronger on both sides of the ball.

Burns' overall team size is the smallest I've witnessed in the last 15 years. AC has some huge offensive lineman and knowing Coach Carter he will use that advantage to cut down on the mistakes of throwing the ball and speed the game up.

AC has some very good skill players and if they are not checked quickly off the ball, they will make you pay.

Good luck to both programs as you kick off the new season.

Do you foresee them beating Watauga and Freedom this year? Well Watauga lost a lot and Freedom is newly coached by will be tougher. Picked 1st in the coaches poll. I dunno man, it's gonna be tight

I still feel AC will need to score a lot every game due to their defensive weaknesses.
Their defense looks to be as week as their 2016 team. An offensive team will put pressure on AC.

They still should be the projected conference winner based on who they return.

Going to make the ride up and it should be a good one. I have never been to AC so im looking foward to it....Cheerduck, Burke - suggestions on good eatn on the way. I know all the chain places in Hickory but any good mom and pops in Taylorsville? Best of luck to both sides on an injury free game.

Google Crossroads Restaurant or Scotty's Restaurant. They both will make your trip enjoyable. Crossroads has sandwiches, the cheeseburger or fresh flounder sandwich are the best, or they will have a plate special for each day, Scotty's a more diverse menu. Both do it right.

Proud of the young Dogs last night. It was a very winnable game and could have gone either way. Spencer Devine in his first ever start managed the game very well. OMG how good is CJ Hopper going to be in 2 years. Reminds me of a young Magale Burris.

So what are the odds of AC taking a Freedom team that kept it super close with Shelby??

Freedom will run away with the conference.

Being that they have this coach....a BUNCH of soph and Jrs on team and most of them start....wow, a dynasty is coming....well, til he gets an offer the next year to some goldmine money school in South Carolina somewhere ha ha
