Bunch and Vedral

I was as pro Gebbia being the starter as anyone, so I don't see how 'I saw what I wanted to see'.. That doesn't make any sense at all.

Also, you just sort of proved my point.. Armstrong looked different because he was in a different offense..

I'm just drawing the comparisons between what we saw when Armstrong was in a different offense to what we have seen now with Gebbia in a different offense, (granted that is only 2 spring games).

I don't think the concept is that hard to grasp. You just don't agree with it, and that's fine.

You also stated earlier that you think Bunch will be the starter and Martinez will be injured. Again by all accounts, through 13 practices Bunch was the 4th best QB, behind Vedral, Gebbia and Martinez. But since you watched a spring game, the other 13 practices mean nothing.

As has been stated, it will work itself out, I just find it funny that the coaches have stated Gebbia can run the offense just fine. Their only concern was about durability. They said, they know he can run the ball the 7 to 8 times, it is the games he has to carry it 11 or 12 that they worry about. That is why they want him to put on some more weight.

I did not see your spring game. But, one thing to keep in mind. Vedral may be on the same page with Frost, when everybody else is trying to figure it out. For example, if Vedral knows Frost wants the ball to spot X but the receiver doesn't get to it, then you will have an incomplete pass or Interception. The other QB's may or may not know the ball needs to go to X but hits the receiver at spot Y because that's where he is. Just something to think about.

you saw what you wanted to see. The fact that, by all accounts, Gebbia was leading the group going into the spring game means nothing to you because, you saw "the ending". The ending was a scripted scrimmage with the QBs having no contact.

As far as Armstrong goes, he led the teams to 9 wins as a senior. playing with multiple injuries.
He looked different because it was a different offense, yet he still ran for 500 yards.
You'll never get these guys to understand that the QB isn't going to have 15 carries a game in this offense. What did Milton average last year, about 6 rushes per game including scrambles?

MARTINEZ RUN GOOD HE START, OPTION BACK, FROST OPTION, RUN GOOD, NEBRASKA WIN.

The other QBs didn't seem to have a problem with receivers not being in the right place. A bigger problem for Vedral was that IMO he experienced more pressure from the defensive rush. Bunch playing behind mostly that same offensive line seemed to handle the pressure a little better than Vedral. That said, there might have been more aggressive defensive play calls from the defense when Vedral was in the game. The bottom line is that the casual observer doesn't really know how the coaches viewed Vedral's performance.

That's a very good point. I recall HCSF saying essentially the same thing before the game.

There are too many variables not evident without detailed film study in some cases to know if you're comparing apples to apples. Which linemen were in the game and did they do their job? Which WRs and RBs were in the game and did they pick up blocks or run the right route? What was the defensive play call and was it a bad fit for the offensive play call. We don't know and I would bet that only somebody with a detailed knowledge of their offense would be able to accurately assess the QB play.
