So it's the off-season...

Who is your all-time Duke roster based on the following criteria?
1. Tiers: You get 3 freshmen, 4 sophomores, 3 juniors, 3 seniors
2. You get only that year, so you could use sophomore Elton Brand and get the best Elton Brand possible, but picking sophomore Nolan Smith means you only get the 8 ppg sometimes-starter, not the ACC PoY from his senior season.
3. It's a one season proposition, so you don't take a freshman Quinn Cook over a freshman Austin Rivers based on what Quinn does later or for program-building. Head-to-head as freshmen in '11-'12, there's no question about who was more valuable on the court.

I'm taking Bagley and Okafor among my freshmen... That third spot is between Tyus and Jabari.
I'm taking JWIll as a soph and JJ as a jr b/c while they may have been better the next year, the leap forward was greater for some other players.
Brand as soph. Singler as jr. I haven't decided on who else yet.

Seniors. Laetner, Redick, Battier.

Juniors. Amaker, JJ, Hurley.

Sophomores. Brand, J. Williams, Grant

Freeman. Bagley, Jabari, Deng.

Threw A maker in there for shut down D at the point. Too many of our post season losses came to lesser teams due to not being able to keep guick guards out of the lane and or not being able to disrupt other teams offense. So much scoring elsewhere, it is an affordable luxury. Love Tyus, but coudnt take him over upperclass guards available who could play better on ball D.

There's stiff competition there: Brand, Avery, JWill, Grant, Bobby, Booz, Dunleavy... all those guys were major players for champs or runners-up as sophs, and they might get squeezed out of other years where there are equally good choices there.

There's stiff competition for every year, really, but that's the one where Grayson has his best shot, for sure.
