I thought that if the guy is into the ropes like that, it’s a knockdown and the ref should start the count. Brook didn’t really recover, he got hit three times and then the ref jumped in and started the count. Either way... wasn’t going to last after that no matter what the ref did.

I would have to think 2 things.

1. Early in the fight, ref didn't want to call it prematurely.

2. Even the ref was shocked by the lightning that Bud struck with.
