By 1930, there were 25 million households in the us and 23 million cars....

That's quite some time before WWII, FYI

Or how about this? You pull into a stall, swap out your dead battery for a fully charged one while you’re inside taking a leak, and then come back out and be on your way?

This is true. That’s why Biden’s infrastructure plan also includes additional charging stations to power electric vehicles.

But we know that plans don’t often survive what happens in real life.

I just missed the part where PeePaw Biden would make electric cars affordable for the average car buyer but I reckon he can throw a few more trillion dollars over seas in his next sweeping legislation so another country can build that affordable car with their slave labor like China while we pay reparations for 150 year old slavery here and ignore it around the world.

they really are unbelievable. where else can you buy great food, candy, cutting boards, pop up tents, tannerite, knives, coolers, clothes, grills, and gas? i mean, how often do you see someone with a chevron or phillips 66 cooler, hat, or tshirt and be considered cool. The Beav pulls it off somehow.

i bet the owners of stuckeys wish they had just gone bigger.

God bless the US of A!

Look at the map of where, and how much High speed rail China has built in the last 13 years.

Do you think the US cannot do infrastructure projects as well as China? If so, I'm going to have to disagree with you.

If not, why should we not invest in a 21st century transportation system?

Some pictures to save a search:

45,000 miles of double track for 200 MPH+ trains built in 10 years. 8 verticals and 8 horizontals.

But because we don't have the people they do we wouldn't need that much track. The US most aggressive plan has 4 horizontals and 5 verticals .

We can't even build Cars as well as China right now. They got all them chips. The far left has pussified and taxed the life out of this country. Commie bastards are taking it from China. It's pride month and Buc-ees has rainbow Buc-ees shirts.

I’m also a bit skeptical. That said, many automakers are also pushing for increased numbers of hybrids and electric vehicles. Consumer Reports has a fairly detailed list here.

And if increased charging stations also happen, the percentage of EVs on the road will increase at a much greater rate.

I’m of two minds here:
1. Going with EV solves the oil dependency issue if the increased charging stations happen— a big IF.
2. That’s going to hurt the petroleum exploration and servicing industries big time and also the businesses that serve them and their employees.

I’ve got family in oil and gas and my parents’ business had a lot of customers also employed in it so my feelings are bittersweet.

Great comments.

Just so I am clear of my stance on electric cars... After my son-in-law took me for a ride in his new Tesla and told me how it continuously updates to the latests updates while he charges it at home I asked him what it cost. Way to much for a guy on disability to purchase. When I told him I would buy one I could afford and drive it to Mississippi and back I would purchase one he quit gas vehicle shaming me and STFU.

Honestly I do think the electrics are cool I'm just waiting to be able to afford one and not be stuck in my home state visiting the relatives. Maybe the new Tesla Truck they are going to build here in Austin will fit the bill but I seriously doubt it.

So, An EV doesn't have any of those expenses, and you can fill it up at home for $0.89.

How much is a fill up for your Toyota?
How much is a model 3 battery pack? The price you quoted is 3 years old.

And again, the current battery packs are under warranty until 2029.

That's funny. It's not the left or the right. It's the Boomers. When the silents and the Greatest were in charge, you heard nothing from China.

Taxes are the lowest in american history.
Then the boomers 17'ed it all up. Trade, Taxes, infrastructure cut it all. let the kids figure it out.. .
