so from like March of 2020 but I guess moreso September of 2020 to March 2021, the team collectively was basically in their own fake reality world in a basketball bubble with zoom classes, everything structured, every minute of their life accounted for. Probably in some ways easy to get through, albeit perhaps boring. More of a complete focus on the game. I know every program went through this but I think some programs adjusted better than others and some managed to sail through with no covid pauses but others had hiccups which hurt their seasons. Rutgers seemed to handle it glowingly

Now its summer and fall 2021 and things are different. Restrictions eased, classes are now happening in person, more freedom, less coddling and watching over. Just wonder that this particular team was cohesive last year in such a tight small environment and when thrown back to real life seem to not be adjusting as well.

Not an excuse and not even saying its legit but it simply has to factor to have more external stimulation especially alot of attention after making the NCAA tourney. Maybe people in their ears telling them how good they are. Seems like this team has lost its entire focus and goals,

Just something to consider,....And again I know all schools are facing this difference but the adjustments back to normal could make some difference....but in the end I would say there are no tears shed. You adjust to life.

It’s an interesting theory, but I really think this team is still adjusting to not having their two best defensive players — JY at the point of attack and MJ as the rim protector. Add Tez to that equation and you had 3 defensive stalwarts.

We’re struggling to find our defensive identity with current personnel, and on the offensive side of the court shots just aren’t falling.

Think we all expected our offense to be clicking with our returning veterans and the addition of Hyatt and Jones plus an improved Cliff. So far other than Cliff that hasn’t come to fruition yet.

Defensively we may have to consider playing more zone, to take advantage of our length while accounting for our lack of lateral quickness.
