I believe he was asked more in the context of what he what he would like to see, vs. what he things would be. Why he though Indy-Illi was more appealing than RU-Illi he did not say

I heard that. Really ticked me off but then there's still that old B1G bias that will probably take a generation if not more to fade away. Say what you want about the fan base but we were warned to expect it by PSU fans.

It was a definite slap in the face. He could have just as easily said about an RU - Illinois match up "The Illini look to avenge an early season loss to RU".
Instead they choose to ignore us in favor of a team that we have beaten 5 of the last 6,

Saw that too and then looked at the guy again and realized his giant ears and face look like he should be cow tipping and eating corn off the cobb out in a field somewhere instead of sitting at that desk on TV

Agreed and this also included a lower seeded MSU over MD advancing, so it was more about "traditional" B1G matchups. Still irked me a little bit though.
