Every fan base is the same. They look for the negatives analysts say so they can “prove them wrong”. When Herbsteit says something negative about a team, those fans complain about his known hatred of their team.

Dinardo said the same things many on this forum have said. They don’t see Nebraska making huge strides in year 2 and are saying 7 wins is probable and people calling for 9 wins or a division title are crazy.

He backed off his original statement, now he thinks they are one of a few teams that can win it.

“I don’t think Nebraska was in the same conversation with Wisconsin and Iowa..Now I’m not so sure”.

Now he is a genius I’m sure. Just kidding. I honestly don’t care if someone has been wrong a handful of times. If someone has seen or is seeing every team twice a year for a decade now, I’m going to listen to what they have to say.

I don’t care what he says... He was spot on when Riley was here...But Riley is no longer here..

I can just tell you we’re coming and were not the same team we were last year...

Well there it is folks. He backed off his overrated (I know it’s not exactly how he said it) and claims the Huskers are one of the few teams that could win it....GBR!!!

My takes:

1. HCSF:
"Having Expectations is Just life around here..."

2. Loved seeing the receivers catching tennis balls rather than going through 1-handed catch drills.

3. HCSF stating that Strength Coach Duval: "carries our culture in the weight room - same message as rest of coaching staff."

4. HCSF did not mention UCF once. Commentator did, but Scott DID NOT.

5. HCSF: "Other teams are getting better too, we have battles ahead, this conferece is deep"

6. Howard Griffith: "There is not a lot of yelling & screaming, just a lot of coaching."

Loved the show, other than Adrian needs a little more polish to his interview skills. It'll come, just a soph-o-more.

Overall, a good solid review of where the program is at. Koolaid was kept to a minimum.

And the funny part is...Gerry DiNardo changes his thoughts and now sees it completely different. For some reason you and Tuco are ignoring that part...you two are apparently just remembering what he previously said.

Forgive me but I don’t think winning the West or a chance of winning the West is a crazy thought at all. Now if we had some Husker fans saying we will go 10-2 and win the BIG 10 title...then sure. That’s some crazier talk. But thinking we will go 8-4 to 9-3 with a chance to win the West??? That’s more then reasonable and now even Gerry DiNardo is thinking differently then what he initially thought. He seen a completely different team live and in person....a team that can compete in the WEST!!! Husker will not go 7 wins or less...you can take that to the bank...not with our schedule. GBR

He changed his thoughts BECAUSE he got to watch them. I feel like that is smart. Before he did not see them practice. Now he got to see them. Think of it like a blind date...you think one thing because you have limited info...then you meet the person and your thinking can change.

Why are people mad at him for gathering more information and changing his mind?

Dude. No one is ignoring the fact that he changed his opinion.

The first part of my post was not specific to the Dinardo comments from earlier. It is a general statement about all fan bases and how they react to analysts who say negative things about their team or pick their team to finish lower than the fan base believes they will finish.

In the second paragraph I was talking about how many on this board have said and continue to say the same thing that Dinardo originally said. The team will be better but not 9 or 10 wins good.

So the fact that Dinardo changed his mind is irrelevant, since I was talking about what some of the people on this forum are writing and not what Dinardo originally said.

This. My gosh, the guys gets bashed for the very same thing many on here do - making gut predictions. He updates that with higher possibilities when he sees the actual evidence after only winning four games last year. Four games and what do people expect?

Enjoyed the show even though there was nothing earth shattering coming out of it, which nobody expected. Just glad we don't hear comments anymore like during the Riley era about it being a lot less physical practice than what they usually see around the B1G. Thought JD, Mo Barry, and Adrian all did a good job speaking on that stage at their ages. It sounds like Mo Barry is a little nervous when speaking like he's little out of breath. His heart was probably racing, but I know at that age I would been the same.
