I remember DiNardo saying at media day he thought the hype for Nebraska was overblown. It’ll be interesting if he sticks with that comment or back tracks a bit.

Guessing Nebraska is going to keep it pretty vanilla and not show too much. So not sure if they will get the full preview.

Seeing is believing...This team looks different than a year ago and especially the Riley teams..

BTN got rid of their free app? Subscription only now?
Delaney said at Big Ten Media day that the old BTN2GO format would be transferred under the FoxSportsGo app. I haven’t tried it yet but it was something along those lines.

The new subscription format is basically the old BTNPlus.

I can't believe anyone would care what he says. One year he talked about multiple players that weren't even on the roster anymore.

DiNardo is harmless. Kind of like a big kid who wants to join in on the adult conversation but has no idea what he's talking about. You just pat him on the head and move on to another topic.

BTN2GO is now on the Fox Sports app. Fox Sports Go has been transitioned to the Fox Sports App. ESPN did something similar with their App.

Not defending DiNardo, don't really know the guy. He probably knows more about football than everyone combined in this board. Just because he gets some names wrong or says something we don't agree with, doesn't make him a fool. If that were the case, what would everyone on the board be?

I want to hear more about Chinander calling everyone a turd.

Talking improved chemistry, "If your great players are turds, then the young guys are gonna act like it. We say it all the time, there's two types of turds, you're a sinker or you're a floater, but you're still a turd, right.?"

I guess it depends on your standards when it comes to football analysts. When they get names wrong, that's actually a biggie for me. It shows me they haven't done in-depth research and/or haven't taken the time to properly prepare their broadcast.

With DiNardo, you generally get basic talking points wrapped in non-committal coachspeak. And that's coming from a guy covering one conference with 14 teams, not all of college football. He's also often in the studio with the ability to do multiple takes, not broadcasting in real time. In short, he shouldn't eff up as much as he does.

But he's no fool, I agree. Undoubtedly he has a wealth of football knowledge. I've just never felt that viewers get to benefit much from it. He basically plays an aww shucks old-school "ball coach" with surface-level takes and a heapin' helpin' of folksiness.

Ironically, if anything, he has a history of over-hyping NU in the B1G. And he's not even "hating" on us now. I just don't take him seriously because I don't get the impression that he takes his job all that seriously.

I'll also defend the guy somewhat because I sympathize for ANY college or nfl media-type who has to come up with something to fill the hours and hours of preseason coverage this time of year. I can barely stomach any of it, it's hard to come up with anything meaningful and it's all just blah, blah, blah talking points. I wish I could get the three minutes of my life back that I used to read Sipple's season prediction article last week.

OMG, we got the all-knowing guru DiNardo to change his take on the Huskers. Do we deserve such an honor? Laughing

Ok, so here’s the deal. If they say all sorts of positive things about one’s school and gets the names right and the history and all of that they are a hero to the home team. I absolutely have no clue why people pay any significant attention to them anyway. They are only going to know what they have been fed by school media and coaches. They are bound to get everyone confused. How many teams in how many days?

When talking about the pure aspects of football, give me a coach any day. They will boggle your mind with detail. The average person on here , including me would be helpless in true football conversation.

All that said, analysts are so boring in general, there isn’t much to learn. Like the guy who gives the keys to a game, uh ya Bill, the team who has fewer turnovers, rushes for 200 yards, has fewer penalties, and stops the other team on third down will have the best chance to win this game. No kidding Sherlock!

Over the last few years it seems like there isn’t an analyst or announcer for our games that anyone likes. I could care less who it is. I don’t need someone to tell me what I am seeing. There are some exceptions of course but in general.....

Its a practice. They assess personnel and how they feel about the team. Nothing to keep "vanilla" or show too much.

The Big ten media guys secret spies that report plays and personnel groups to other schools for a price?
