Granted UK should not be in constant nail bitters....this is why the winning streak was a bit of fools gold....

But that push off on Chandler is such a unreal bad ball....Auburn guy is holding him and flops clear as day, refs should be anticipated these kind of antics...and they fall for it and it decides the game.

Chandler was horrible all second half. What did he have, five turnovers in the second half alone?

We should have never lost this game. The program is in shambles. We can't blame this one on the refs. We were terrible.
That call lost the game......as stated before...being in constant nail bitters brings these ref antics into possibly losses....but that was a truly silly call that decided the game.

You can't anticipate that was going to happen ,, but as a coach you have to make sure it doesn't .. Use the football in bounds play or something surefire ,, Can't leave it to chance .. Had a timeout .. Take control and use it

He clearly pushed off. It doesn’t get called 99% of the time but it wasn’t the wrong call. He knows better than that. Hopefully he’s back in Mormon country next year and far away from lexington
If you’re going to play the technicality game, the Auburn player had him wrapped up with two hands first, so that should have been a defensive foul called before he ever had a chance to extend the arm. That’s poor officiating to swallow the whistle on one thing, then enforce the letter of the law on the reaction it draws the next second.

That call is a freak statistical anomaly.

High school, college, pro…all around the globe the number of times that is called a foul in the last few seconds of a game is barely measurable.

Said in another thread it should be turned into the league and investigated.

Has some stupid F’ing polymarket prop bet written all over it.

About like that kicker who kicked the dirt not even remotely close to the ball but even more improbable because kickers do occasionally whiff but I’ve never seen a call like that at the end of the game on a press break. Maybe under the goal in a scrum for a rebound but most refs wouldn’t even call that.

Once again. You’re on the road. Ofcourse that could have been a call as well but regardless of that Chandler DID push off.

That’s just a classic example of a ref trying to alter a game, but it should’ve never come down to that. It was another poorly mismanaged game

No...blowing a NINE POINT LEAD lost the game.

Damn. We used to be a smart fanbase.

One of these days UK fans will realize that both of these complaints can be true:

1. Refs for some reason (Rooferee) hate UK and its fans and it's an easy gambling win to manipulate against us.

and

2. We are hot garbage with Pope at the helm. We were hot garbage with washed up Cal at the helm. We are essentially becoming a ref-hated Indiana.

We can both suck and be screwed by the refs. We've seen it all year long. Both can be 100% true, and are yet again this year.

You don’t take that chance on the road. Chandler is dumb as hell for doing that.
He had to get open to not turn the ball back over…he was doing a simple v cut ….close the gap with defense and then explode away from defense to open area to receive the ball

He didn’t do a thing wrong

You're absolutely right. However, the staff should have protested the call way harder. It happened directly in front of our bench.
Post game any coach with balls goes nuclear and gets fined. That one call decided the outcome to the game.

We do not know it lost the game for sure. We could have missed the free throws and they could have scored and we could have lost. Or they hit a 3 and we lose in overtime. The call sucked for sure, but this team does too.

Well it dang sure put thr game into 50/50 win vs loss territory.....the scenario you lay out are way less likely UK blows them and losses

I agree it improved Auburn's chances, but this game was not over without the call.

I am not a referee, but I guess it boils down to a referee deciding whether Chandler had an unfair advantage by pushing off ... ???

I’m gonna post this in every thread to every supposed UK fan defending that call.

Take Pope out of it. If you’re defending that call I question your UK allegiance. It was a grab and flop. One of the oldest tricks in the book and a play they have instituted rules to penalize. And for reference to not just how bad a call it was, but corrupt. Go back a few minutes to an offensive possession by Auburn where the Euro kid flattened Chandler under the basket. That one was not called. I do blame Pope for one thing. They should have had to physically remove him from the arena for fear of him assaulting a referee. This **** has to end.
