The time to get Pearl was when we hired Pope. I never felt like he’d have more than a 4-5 year run here, but would give us time to look at other coaches after. Maybe Pope would have been more qualified down the road. But, that ship has sailed!

Of course you take him if you can get him. I think he wants to get into politics and want d to set his son up. Maybe he changes his mind or he likes doing TV and not having to deal with this new landscape. If he ever wants to coach again and he would definitely be interested you ask him. He would crush it here over 5-8 years. Then we could be back on track and try again then when he retires.

With what he did at Tennessee and Auburn, Bruce was more than capable of winning a title here.

A little off topic but yahoo is reporting that those close to Todd Golden want him to pass up on UNC this year for UK next year. Kinda interesting.

Yahoo reported that? Interesting. I’ll have to read that but I find it odd he talked so much smack about us if he felt that way.
