He may be the best rebounder on the team. I'm impressed that he gets as many as he does with his height. He really has great upper body strength and blocks out well.

Does Briscoe's rebounding negate or outweigh his unbelievably terrible offensive game?

Murray and Briscoe fight like crazy for those rebounds. And it's a good thing they do, because our bigs aren't always reliable on the glass.

Love Briscoe on the floor but wish we could ban him from anything but a layup. It's several wasted possessions a game when he shoots from the outside. We need to maximize every single possession.

My opinion is that rebounding is about effort and getting good position. Our bigs usually rebound by being taller than everyone else.

Love Briscoe game but I have wondered why they have not worked on his jump shot & f/t shot ?

He can't shoot But there isn't a tougher guy on this team aside from Ulis

Briscoe is the best rebounder on this team by a lot. As far as his offensive game goes, he just needs to quit thinking about scoring unless he can drive it to rim. We need to quit throwing it to him at the 3 pt line when shot clock is running down. I'd rather see Willis, Murray or Ulis shoot from half court.

I'm finally coming around to the fact that we're a 4 guard team. Fortunately we have some good rebounding guards.

You think they haven't?
They definitely have. Matter of fact, Cal is wanting him to shoot it more. I assume it's because they know he can shoot at least halfway decent enough, but they're just trying to get him to shoot with more confidence. Unfortunately that will only come with him shooting it more. Cal chewed his *** several times tonight for passing up open jump shots.

If they have they need to get someone else to show him how to shot. :)
I have a feeling he's one of the kids that makes them in practice, but it doesn't "carry over" to games, per Cal's end of game speech. I think at some point during the tournament, just like Bledsoe, he'll have a hot shooting night.

I wish he would fine that shot this Saturday ! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Bledsoe made 8 3's in NCAA game. Briscoe hasn't made 8 this year so I would say that's got no chance of happening and don't even want to see trying 3's in the tourney.

You can't fix that kinda thing during the season . You do that in the off season and his free throw shooting was good in HS so really the only thing to fix is his head . His J needs an overhaul though and why I don't see him going pro this season as he would at best be an early 2nd rounder.

I saw in play in HS (on TV) and he did have a nice shot. A guy from here in town was at the game and overhead a scout saying they really liked Briscoe's game. So could he go in low 1st round ? Who knows.

He needs to keep shooting in the flow of what we're doing as the 4th option on the floor. The nights when he hits a few it's like found money.

I appreciate that he will attempt a jump shot...he is a driver, to sell his shot fake, he has to take the open ones. Make or no make, he is setting up for the next play...

I'm just amazed at how many wide open shots he misses. For a kid that I saw play several times in High School and make a lot of tough shots, I'm shocked at how poor his shooting has been.

He's busting his butt in every phase of the game, he just can't buy a shot that isn't a layup.

I'm convinced it is a mental block at this point. My question is, can he overcome it by the Tournament?

He's better on tough shots. Thinks about it too much when he's wide open.

Lets be real here, he's a PF out there.

His rebounding is great & greatly needed w/ our lack of depth upfront, but sorry, its not enough to outweigh his BADNESS on offense.

He's a drag to our spacing & cant beat anybody off the dribble. He's a good finisher only when he gets a OREB. Most of his production comes the same way a college PF would collect his numbers.

Who would you give his minutes to?

We have a top 10 offense with Briscoe unable to throw it in the ocean.

He does facilitate, doesn't turn the ball over much, nor does the ball stick in his hands terribly.

If Briscoe could shoot, we would likely have the best offense in the country. But without him on D, I doubt we'd be a top 50 defense.

It's an issue, but we do ok, and I don't see a better option.
