Well he clearly won't shoot this well every game but his shot looks good. He looks really comfortable. Last year there was no rhyme or reason to his shot. It was just broke. It ain't broke anymore.

I'd be thrilled if his shot improved enough to draw coverage on the perimeter.
I really hope he keeps it up. He doesn't have to be Monk. Just keep it at 35ish. It means so much more than the points his shooting brings. He commands attention now. Teams will be less likely to zone us. It will allow the offense to flow so much better.

If he develops a consistent jumper, he's unguardable. He can get to the rim almost at will as is. If you have to guard him close on the perimeter, it's over.

Briscoe has hit 6 of 7 of his 3 pointers in his last 3 games but some need more evidence. What on earth does it take?

If he can just shot it at 30-32% I'll be happy.

He really seems to pick his times to shoot it and takes his time with it. Reminds me of when Terrance Jones would shoot 1 or 2 threes a game.

Definitely looks a lot smoother. As someone in another thread said, if he can shoot ~32-33% from deep I'd take that in a heartbeat. Just hope this recent hot streak doesn't lead to a torrent of bad shots at the wrong time.

Well, lets not go overboard here. It's not like that is a very high volume of shots over a extended period of time. It will take a bit more to prove he has significantly improved his shot. Don't get me wrong, I think he has and I think it will show as we go on but I'm only saying that this isn't ironclad evidence and we need more volume to see. I would think the NBA scouts would say the say thing. He's just going to have to go out and knock down some more. Lol

And I think it's over his last 5 games but I could be wrong.

He is still not one of the guys I want taking any kind of perimeter shot with the game on the line, but perhaps he has turned the corner.

As for the league - teams will work him out at their own facilities. He will prove then whether he can or cannot shoot consistently from the perimeter. Over the course of each workout, he will likely have taken as many perimeter shots as he has over the course of 40 games this season.

He shoots 30% on limited attempts the rest of the year - being very selective - we become a very tough team to beat in March.

I thought his shot selection from 3 has been much better lately. I think he is a better set shooter like Willis. He was able to get set and take the shot as soon as he caught it twice and it looked very good I don't think he can create his own shot like Monk, but really who can? He did have one of the three I believe where he took a couple of dribbles before shooting and made it though, but if he can be set and wait on the pass out by Fox, his % will stay pretty good.

I think it means that some of us want to see more than six made shots over three games before we let ourselves believe that it is now his normal shooting. It's ok to be cautiously optimistic considering it's certainly hasn't been the norm in his time here.

I dunno, maybe doing it more than 3 games out of 50? Not asking for him to turn into Steph Curry but it is possible to get hot for 3 games and then regress a little, you've seen it happen some, I guarantee it. But before I start yelling for him to shoot it I'd like to see him shoot well for like a month or month and a half? Is that a crazy expectation?

If it hadn't already been determined that Briscoe's shot will never improve significantly, I would have to say that his shot looks like it has improved significantly.

^^^ Exactly!

I know that some on this board were willing to bet their houses that Briscoe would not shoot >25% from 3. They couldn't be wrong!
I know we are only 1/3 through the season, and 9-22 isn't a big sample size, but there is a clear improvement. I am not saying he will stay at 40.9%, but as I've said for months, an improvement to 28-33% (with a chance at up to 36%) is reasonable and achievable for him.
