Fox is great but shooting and making the simple play are his biggest weaknesses. Cal can help one but the other will remain to be seen.

Difference between Fox and Ulis will be decision making and the mid range jumper. Ulis had as good of pull up as anyone in college. However, Fox has size and athleticism. It'll just take some time to get acclimated.

First off. Monk is a streaky shooter. He can go 0-10. And the next game go 6-10. Anyone saying he's a lights out shooter is flat out wrong. Maybe if he works hard over the summer and cal drills into his head only taking good shots he can be lights out.

Second. Briscoe is a 13% outside shooter. If 30% is considered poor. And 25% is considered awful ... What do you call 13%? He's going to have to change his form over the off season.

Lol can UK fans STOP bringing up his HS shooting? It means nothing.

He had one of the worst shooting seasons ever by a guard. That is no fluke. He has proven he cannot shoot over CBB athletes.
Dickie Beal shot below or right at 50 percent his freshman season and high 80's his senior year from the line. He even shot technicals his senior year! Sometimes it is a matter of just learning to relax. Briscoe can and I believe will be a much better shooter next season!

Briscoe won't fix his 3pt shot that quickly, but I do believe he'll be fine from the FT line next year. He was 6-6 from the line in the NCAAT, and 10-12 his last 4 games.

UK's issue next year, if they have one, could be occasional scoring droughts. Defensively, they will annihilate people.

Gabriel, Briscoe, Fox, Matthews, Hawkins, Bam, and Monk might give UK the best defensive rotation in Cal's tenure. There will be multiple wing players (Including Gabriel) who can lock up opposing wings.

I know a lot of folks are slurping up the Duke hype right now, but defensively those fellas will have some major issues with Allen, Thornton, and Kennard in the backcourt.

As I've always said. Briscoe is gone. Too much potential. Shooting woes can be fixed. JMO

Next year, when Duke's backcourt is two non-PGs with good size who both can shoot 40% from 3, I suspect a lot of fans are going to lose their infatuation with the John Wall PG model.

The good news is - Cal is targeting Young over Duval next year, so I'm thinking even Cal is moving in different direction.

Briscoe is a Beast. Last year he focused on ball handling and making the right play. He guards anyone on switches, 1 thru 5, he is a stopper. He will work on his shot, with Ulis and Murray sharing the back court, he wasn't needed to be a 3pt threat. Now he will be needed, he will improve. We won't be as good a team without him, so I hope he does return.
Guarantee he is putting up 1000 shots from outside, 1000 ft, this summer. GO BIG BLUE!!!

duke doesn't guard ****

f them and anyone who wants to emulate them

Some of you like to think that great defense can neutralize great shooting, but the truth is it can't - not if you have multiple great shooters.

I'm not that concerned about our outside shooting next year though - Monk can shoot and I think Gabriel can as well. Fox will be fine - I think Briscoe's awful shooting last year just traumatized everyone, but Briscoe has a great work ethic and I think he's going to come back a serviceable shooter next year.

Difference between Briscoe the HS shooter and the college shooter is the HS shooter was basically a set shooter. There wasn't much jumping when taking a shot. That works in AAU and is the best style for a three point shooting contest, but you cant be a set shooter in college when your playing the 2/3 and not over 6'4". His whole shot had to be fixed and his motion had to be rebuilt. Expect him to be more improved this year.

Oh yeah, i forgot. Can;t bring up players flaws. You're either a troll or a louisville/Duke fan for having a opinion different from the usual blue tinted posts.

Lol what a joke. People so sensitive they cant handle a discussion about current/future players flaws.

It isn't that people on here can't handle discussion about players. What most can't handle, is someone who is a self anointed expert that knows more than our coach. Those who are so much better than Cal when it comes to player evaluation.

People worry about Brisco leaving for the same reasons they have worried about other players who have left that shouldnt have. He's no different than some...

Ahhhhhh not really dude......just stating facts.
And I'm stating facts too. The situations are different and technically anybody could go at anytime for a bunch of reasons. Perhaps Humphries wants to go back to New Zealand, Mathews gets an agent out of no where, Willis goes pro over seas, and Hawkins says I just don't feel like playing anymore.

All in all he will be back. all those guys will be back.
