Actually very few UK fans bring up his high school shooting,, clown. Get back in the basement where you spend most of your time doing Heaven knows what deviant acts with your pet goat.

Actually lots of posters won't shut up about his high school and "3 point contest" shooting. Are you reading this board at all?

The fact is Briscoe isn't a good shooter right now and probably won't be. Coupling the problem by starting multiple guards who can't shoot will only hurt the issue more.

We'll see.

Its brought up everytime someone mentions his bricklaying.

You seem upset over facts. You obviously can't handle the truth.

If Briscoe works on his shot and shoots at a reasonable percentage his draft stock will be raised significantly.

Fox shot 34% from 3 his senior year of high school. As has been indicated with Lamb and Briscoe, high school shooting percentages are some indicator, but not an absolute indicator of how players will shoot in college. I don't think it's unreasonable for Fox to shoot around 33% from 3 at Kentucky.

It's harder for freshman to come in and be reliable 3 point threats.

Guess we'll see. Just hard to see someone who struggles shooting over inferior athletes turn into a average one vs. peers of his caliber athletically + size-wise.

That 28% was over a 76 game span. Big sample size. Not a good look, esp. following his brickshow in the Mickey Ds game. We'll get another look this Saturday at the Hoop Summit.

Should be fun.

How long you been confused by the written word?

Oh yeah, i forgot. Can;t bring up players flaws. You're either a troll or a louisville/Duke fan for having a opinion different from the usual blue tinted posts.

Lol what a joke. People so sensitive they cant handle a discussion about current/future players flaws.

Some of them can't even handle someone saying Briscoe can't shoot.3 shot clock violations might be a cal problem. The Twins weren't john Wall.

I used to be called a pumper on this board years ago. The new age group has me beat by a mile.

If I had been given his defensive and rebounding skills my draft stock would have been higher. I was a hell of a shooter

I can only imagine if Briscoe returns & still can;t shoot.

They'll stil bring up HS & make up another excuse for his bricks. " Its still mental."

Briscoe has a ton of work to do, in regards of shooting and he needs to lose weight as well. I love his attitude and heart, he needs another season.

If Briscoe does leave then we do need to go all in for Fergie. It seems like a long shot, so the other plan should be a grad transfer. We could get a grad transfer who could come off the bench shoot 40plus % from 3 and give us 6-8 points a game. But with that said Briscoe will come back. As will Lee. I think we'll be ok shooting wise with Monk and Willis. Willis will be our knock down, lights out 3pt shooter, and Monk will give us what Murray did from 3. A high volume 40% 3pt shooter. If Fox and Briscoe can just shoot 32-35% we'll be fine. If Ulis goes here's our roster.

Starters
De'Aaron Fox
Malik Monk
Wenyen Gabriel
Bam Adebayo
Marques Bolden

Bench in order of minutes
Isaiah Briscoe
Derrick Willis
Marcus Lee
Sacha Killeya Jones
Dominique Hawkins
Charles Mathews
Isaac Humphries
Tai Wynyard

Mychal Mulder will not be on the team as we have to have room for Bolden, Lee, and Briscoe. Or I could see Wynyard transferring instead, but more likely it will be Mulder. I hoped he would give us a lights out shooter off the bench but it didn't work out. But that team (Our probable roster) is stacked and has every ingredient for 9. We will be really deep too with SKJ, Lee, Briscoe, and Willis all playing a lot off the bench.

Why do you think Wynyard would transfer? He's going to get some playing time, maybe not so much this year, but a lot in the future. He's a big body who can play.

Sorry fives tar but fox, Monk and Briscoe will all start together. Don't see how that's hard to see. Fox shot a good percentage in high school and will be fine. Most of the time Willis and Monk will be on the floor at the same time so it won't matter.

If he leaves we need to go all out for Ferguson
Hahahahahaha, this dude will never get it. We have not, will not EVER, if he's the last basketball player on earth, if it meant a $1m bonus for Cal to call him, if the world was ending, shut up about Ferguson. Might as well hope for Steph Curry, you'd have more of a shot at him being on UK's team than Terrance.

If Briscoe is back and starts, Cal almost has to start Willis with Briscoe. Got to have at least two great (around 40%) perimeter shooters on the floor or defenses will sag big time and dare us to shoot.

We will need:

G Fox- 32-35% from 3.
G Monk- 38-40% from 3.
G Briscoe- at least 30% from 3.
F Willis- 40+% from 3.
F Adebayo

Only way Willis does not start is if Gabriel shoots lights out and can replace Willis as the stretch 4 or Briscoe and Willis both come off the bench.

Most likely, Cal needs to have Willis and Briscoe together to offset Briscoe's shooting woes.

I have not seen him play much, but isn't Fox averaging like 40 pig in high school? Is he getting that all on lay ups and free throws?

I agree we need enough shooters to keep defenses honest. That being said, Cal values athletic man to man defense. I think the best defenders will get the most playing time. This bodes well for Fox, Monk, Briscoe, Gabriel, Bam, and even Lee. If Gabriel or Briscoe show they can shoot PLUS play good defense then it won't surprise me if Willis is back in the dog house

Too many of our fans are infatuated with 3pt shooting. Getting easy points is the name of the game, the closer the shot the better. We are gonna have a ton of athletes next year who can score a variety of different ways. This might be the most athletic team Cal has had here. That's saying something. I get that we have had problems scoring in stretches the last few years, even though we were supposedly #1 in offensive efficiency this year. We still would go ice cold and wait on Murray or Ulis to go one on one and bail us out.

Next year, we are gonna have some balanced scoring from several players. I'm not worried about scoring next year at all. If we rebound and play defense, we will be very, very good.

Which is clearly not leaving . I am not worried about Briscoe leaving . Kid isn't stupid . Come back , win a title and be a top 20 pick as all he has to do is get back to his shooting ways like in HS . Make 35 % of his 3's and 70% of his freebies.

See Eric Bledsoe, John wall, Archie Goodwin, etc. I could see him going late first round and developing into a pretty damn good player. None of the three I mentioned were that good of shooters at uk, but look at them now. Hell even cousins and towns' jump shots have improved drastically since being in the league. If he does the same combined with his ball handling and ability to get to the rim watch out..having said that I hopes he comes back because he could turn into a lottery pick, but I won't be mad either way

If you look at Briscoe and all of the 2016 NBA Mock Draft Boards Briscoe is not on any 1st or 2nd round draft picks unless he is waiting for feedback after the NBA Combine. Briscoe might think after the NBA Combine there will be a team or teams that might want him in the 2nd round. I believe Briscoe comes back and I hope he works again on his outside shot. In High School if you look at his Junior and Senior years he shot 46% fg and from 3 shot 36% and even shot 71% from FT Line. If he can work on his outside shot during the summer and can improve his fg % near 45-48% and from 3 at 36% and get his FT % back to 70% he will average 14-16 ppg. Briscoe is a great defender and good rebounder for a guard and Fox, Monk, and Briscoe could make another outstanding backcourt for UK. We will also have Willis that will shoot 40-45% from 3 and that will help Kentucky next year. When we inserted Willis after the Auburn loss is when Kentucky started playing better ball until his ankle injury took him out the last 2 weeks. With who we have back next year and with this years outstanding class and maybe Bolden this team will make another run at Final Four and Championship!

1 He's not that good

2 He probably wont ever get much PT. Not this year with Bam, Bolden, Lee, SKJ, Willis, and Gabriel (even though at least 1 of those guys will play mostly SF) And he wont play much his Jr. year either. We'll have a couple 5 star bigs coming in to pair with a returning SKJ. And on and on. He will continue to be recruited over.

3 Matt Jones even mentioned it as a possibility.

I don't recall Briscoe having come out of high school with a rep as a poor shooter. Can anybody help me with that? I'm just too lazy tonight to go back and look for the stats, and I'm probably not competent to find the stats if I tried.

Maybe Briscoe's shooting will improve markedly next season. God knows, it wouldn't take much for that to happen.

I like Briscoe a lot. He and Ulis were the only players on our team this year whom I could describe, in good conscience, as "a warrior."

Memo to people bemoaning Fox's lack of 3 point shooting ability: Tyler Ulis wasn't a great 3 point shooter this past season. Great player, incredible at creating stuff late in the shot-clock, superb in the mid-range, but that doesn't change the reality of 34.4%, and only 2 more made than Willis, who played less than half as many minutes.

Replacing Ulis won't be easy, and there is some reason to have trepidation about Fox and Briscoe playing together, but 3 point shooting is the least of that problem.

I just wish he'd stop taking so many jumpers with 1 or even 2 feet on the line..never seen a player do it so much
God I know it. I hate when any guy does that. It's a shot with 3-point difficulty and only a 2-point reward.
At least we didn't HOLD him back. Very different than coach Selfish at UKUjr.
Come on now, don't back talk my man Kubbalfan23. That's Wenyen's friend so he's got a dang good source.

Lol at anyone saying Ferguson....never happening
Seriously it ain't happening. Same as Duval and Preston for 17. Cal holds an everlasting grudge when you do him wrong. Why else would he have offered Trae Young and not Duval. No offers for those studs says he means business. Cal believes they need us more than we need them. Its similar to Rupp's old philosophy.
