I don’t understand why so many State fans want Hudspeth so bad. He’s the head coach at Austin freaking Peay. Not even a coordinator at a G5 school. Someone enlighten me.

The head coach at Austin Peay who was also fired by a Sun Belt school two years ago. It is absurd. I like Hud but that’s not happening. For what it’s worth, I don’t think he’s really being considered anyway.

Well. After we got beat by KSU, there were plenty of folks singing the praises of the KSU coach who also came from the FCS ranks.

I am not saying he is the man, but has plenty of time at the D1 level as an assistant and HC.

outside of a couple of short coaching stays, he is not a MSU guy.

This not his home.

Ok Louisville High....

He’s openly admitted multiple times this is his dream job. He grew up an MSU fan. Went to Delta St. so he could play college football otherwise he’d be an MSU graduate. He’s at his third rebuilding job. All have been successful. If anyone followed ULL he had the program turned around a second time following the NCAA penalties. New AD at ULL wanted to hire his own guy is the reason Hudspeth was fired there. BTW he went to Winston Academy not Louisville High.

Maybe because he has won everywhere hes been and he is a home grown fella. He wouldn't be trying to leave after a 10 win season. And make no mistake about it, he will win 10 games here

Add to that: ULL had NEVER been to a bowl game prior to his arrival. He then took them 5 bowls in 7 years. He literally built the program that Napier is living off of.

He was their Mullen. And they brought in a guy to build off of that get them to the next level. That’s why I think Napier is the guy we need. Hud is a builder. Napier is an elevator. I like both but I think we need Napier at this time.

Will "openly admit" that I had a wet dream one time but it didn't result in being hired as a HC

What’s the obsession with getting. “Home grown” fella, or a “southerner” like someone said in Cohens press conference?
Mullen wasn’t homegrown. Makes us sound like inbreds, that are so ******* redneck, it takes one of our own first cousins to “get it”.

He would be our H Freeze without the maroon back packs.
Maybe we should start a maroon back pack trend.
Preacher Hugh also called Fl escorts, I don’t think Hud would, at least not on his Univ phone.
I say hire Hud Monday AM !

HUD is like the girl you had a crush on in high school. You think about shooting your shot at your 10 year. Then she shows up with an extra 60 pounds, a smoking habit and 2 kids.

Hud is our orgeron. Hes my 1st choice, but only under 1 condition; a no-brainer. We must put up the cash for top coordinators. If we are goingbto continue to be cheap in regards to assistants it really wont matter who we hire. We will need to get lucky with another Mullen. And we all know that isnt likely to happen. So go get Hud. Hes MSU. He knows the recruiting trails and will have the motivational factor in the bag. Surround him with top assistants and youve got lsu this year minus the level of talent. He will obviously have to start recruiting that void. Thats my vote.

Austin Peay had never been to the FCS playoffs and in Hud's first year he took them to the Elite Eight.

There is a dumbass portion of the fanbase that wants people who are Mississippi State guys to coach the football team whether they are any good or not. That’s why Hud and Joe Judge are candidates. It’s why Rocky Felker got hired in the 80s, etc. Joe Judge is modern day Felker to me.

Except you know Kliemann won a bunch of national championships at the FCS level.

lol Um 3 straight losing seasons isn’t turning things around buddy. Going 4-8, 6-7, and 5-7 in your last 3 years before getting fired isn’t turning things around. That’s like saying Matt Luke turned around Ole Miss.

lol Napier had to clean up a dumpster fire. NCAA sanctions and 3 straight losing seasons before he got there. Whatever he built he cratered before he got shitcanned.
