Enjoy the egg OM. Enjoy 6 wins. Enjoy Luke being your head coach. This is the pinnacle for your program for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, MSU has their 8th straight bowl game to prepare for and our fans have travel plans to make. So suck on that.

Right now, I am convinced self imposed is all they will get. Heat of the moment, but that is the perfect MSU ending to it all.

This is why the loss tonight hurts. If they lost tonight, they would have been 5-7 and not bowl eligible. No way the NCAA lets them count a year when they weren't even eligible as their only bowl ban year. They would have gotten a second year bowl ban. This results in all of their players being able to transfer without penalty and a whole bunch of them leave.

It is probably why the NCAA was waiting until after this game to announce the sanctions.

Now, the bowl ban for this year really does keep them out of a bowl, so they probably won't now get a 2nd year.

We had it in our power to put the nail in the coffin and we let it get away. They may get additional sanctions but tonight, in my opinion, removed the 2nd year bowl ban/ free unlimited transfer thing from the table.

That really hurts.

Anyone who thinks the sanctions are being rewritten based on the outcome of a game is an idiot. To illustrate the absolute stupidity of this theory, how did the NCAA know weeks ago (when they supposedly decided to wait after the Egg Bowl to release sanctions) that Ole Miss wouldn't already have 6 wins before then? Do you really think the committee decided to draw up two sets of sanctions and two timelines for release based on whether/when Ole Miss got to 6 wins-- and indeed punish them less the more successful they were? You easily could have gotten there last week or even earlier if not for the Arkansas choke job. And we haven't missed you Rebelbruiser. Enjoy your probation.
